This product is an absolute piece of garbage.
As a toaster, it toasts completely unevenly, burning the middle while the top and bottom barely brown. Also it has a tendency to either toss the food into the air or get it wedged down into the back making a total mess.
As an oven however, it is many, many times worse. The top heating light is not shielded on the bottom, so the direct radiation burns the top surface to a crisp within minutes, even for frozen food. And it is so tiny that even a personal size pizza will not fit (luckily, because I probably would have had to throw out the pizza afterwards).
The box states that it is a "best 'kitchen helper' pick in Parenting Magazine". If that is true, I would not recommend subscribing to that magazine either.

I ordered this after seeing it posted on dealnews. I've wanted a toaster oven for quite some time, and not having a standard toaster, this fit the bill quite nicely.
In the few days that I've had it, it has perfectly toasted bread and buns without issue. I have yet to attempt to bake something in it, as I've only had it for a few days. I will certainly update this when I do.
I noticed there is also a Toastation II, and the one I was sent from Amazon looks like it has features from both models. Mine does not have the black part on the handle that the II has, but mine has a cancel button! I've been reading all of these reviews saying they would fling toast across the kitchen, but that is not the case for me.
4 stars for now until I bake something :)

This toaster was alright at first, just minor annoyances, but after about a year of use, I just can't stand it anymore. The toasting bit goes down into the oven, so its just a little catch to hold up your toast. Almost everything I put in gets caught, which forces me to either a) unplug it and mutilate it with a fork until it comes out or b) violently jam the toaster button up and down until it comes loose. Waffles are especially susceptible. There is also no timer on this thing. NO TIMER? What the hell? You have to either have some external timer to use, or stand right there and watch it, as it goes from edible to burnt in a matter of seconds. Also, the tray that came with it does not fit inside, and the door doesn't close all the way when you use it.
Talk about a waste of money.

Received this as a gift from a catalog. I picked it out myself, thinking that, despite reviews, surely it will be better than our previous toaster oven that heated unevenly. When we received it, I was thrilled. The idea and functionality is a good one, but the execution is poor. The oven feature didn't work, we had to slam the slider over hard to get it to stay lit. Usually it just turns off automatically, not in a temperature control way, the heating elements just don't turn on at all. I finally called Hamilton Beach, and because we received it as a gift, and their warranty doesn't include shipping and handling, now I have to pay to have it shipped to me. Trust me, from a normally optimistic consumer, stay away. Look for a sturdier product with known quality control.Customer Review: Not What it's Cracked Up To Be!

What a disappointment! The concept is great, but the fact is that the "Toastation" is neither a good toaster nor a good oven. It takes forever to heat. Toast always requires a second time. If you NEED it to pop up, it is very hard to release and causes the toast to fly out of the slots like an old comedy movie. And the oven.... well, it is just useless It doesn't stay hot enough to do the job, which means that it takes so long that you'll forget you have anything in there. And there's no timer to stop it when you do forget! Also, it does not broil and the grooves in the top are just a trap for crumbs. Unless you have lots of time on your hands and like to monitor an inefficient appliance, forget this one. Buy a less expensive and more functional toaster oven.
