I purchased this toaster based on the reviews, and it is an excellent toaster. It seems to work quickly, has a way to keep very thin slices from falling over and getting scorched, etc. It reminds me of a tank, or Rosie the Robot from the Jetsons sitting on the counter, in all its stainless steel glory. The strange thing is, when I bought it, the Amazon price was several dollars less than the local Wal-mart, besides the lure of free shipping. As I submit this review, the Amazon price is more than $10 higher than Wal-mart. Try to catch it when the market is in your favor.Customer Review: Great toaster, I use it everyday for toast, Eggos etc. Love it !

We got this about 1 week ago, I use it every day for toast and Eggos.
When you 1st get it make sure to put it on highest setting and let the oil / chemical smell burn off at least 3-4 cycles w/out toast...
Once it's clear of the chemical smell your good to go for toasting!
It does a good job and sides are not HOT - safer & better.
The center where toast goes is S.Steel but the 2 sides are metal. I tested w/a magnet it won't attract to S.Steel. Over all a solid 4 stars.
We paid $25.00 w/free s/h got it in 2 days!! Now on sale today.

This toaster is very well-made and look's classy. The controls are nice, simple and firm and the whole unit just reek's of very-good quality, for $22.22 it's Outstanding Quality!!!
I've bought three Haier products: microwave, mini-fridge and now this toaster and all I can say is Haier's got great quality and now I actively search for their products along with LG and other quality brands.

Toasts bagels evenly. I use the setting at 6 with the bagel button selected and I get a near perfectly toasted bagel. I say near perfect because the bagel does not come out as hot as I'd like, so I leave it in for an extra couple of minutes using the defrost feature which is also great for keeping your toast warm. Some other breads such as the seeded whole grains do not seem to toast quite as even while others do better. All in all it's a great toaster for the price. I've owned it for over a month and use it nearly every day. So far I've not had any problems with it.Customer Review: Uneven toasting

I bought this toaster based on the positive reviews I read at the amazon.com site. I wanted something to replace my old toaster-oven, which browns unevenly. Unfortunately this toaster didn't solve the problem. With one slice of toast, the outer side of the toast was too pale if the inner side was browned correctly; if the outer side was toasted correctly, the inner side was almost burned. After a week of fiddling with the settings, I returned the toaster and will look for another brand. Maybe I just got a "bad appple" but I am not inclined to buy another Haier....
