With the unit I received, when I set the water level to high, it would make a terrible grinding noise without starting the wash cycle. It did, indeed, sound like a jack hammer, but was probably its insides disintegrating. Fortunately, the spin cycle worked fine, so I was able to drain the tub.
With the water level set to medium, the wash cycle did commence, but consisted of a feeble swishing back and forth (it operates by shooting jets of water through the sides of the tub while doing a half-spin) that did little to clean clothes. I washed one load twice and it still came out smelling slightly off - possibly though I didn't use enough detergent, based on advice from earlier reviews. Following that, I packed it up to return.
It's unreasonable to expect high quality with this product line, but every part of this machine is as cheap as could be used in its manufacture. The drain hose is of stiff, inflexible plastic that would undoubtedly break one day. There were slight leaks that caused puddles underneath, and also from the water hose connection. The metal plate you have to attach to the bottom has to be bent to make it fit - fortunately, it's not much thicker than a piece of aluminum foil. When I removed it to repackage the washer, there were bits of rubber and a film of oil on it, just from a couple uses. It's unlikely this machine would last very long.
There is a little entertainment to be had from the broken English instructions printed on top of the machine. The manual is a little better grammatically, but still not of much practical use. I can't say I would buy this brand again.

I read a lot of reviews from different sites about this product. There are some reviews saying it is hard to install so I didn't make my decision until this July. I got this machine from Amazon a few days ago. I read the instruction carefully before installed. The instruction and the product indicated how to place the plate correctly onto the bottom. This machine is perfect for 2 persons. The clothes dry easily because the spin is strong enough. The machine is not very noisy, and understand it should have some kind of sound when it washes or spin. I used the box which came with this machine to cover it because I don't want my apartment manager knows, and it help a little bit on the sound.
I lived at the 3rd floor and my apartment doesn't have laundry. It saved my life a lot.
At the beginning, I thought that it would deliver by UPS but it was not. I tracked the package everyday to make sure I have someone standby to receive the package because it is a heavy case, over 60 lbs., I didn't want it returned. When I tracked the package was arrived the city, the shipping company will call or email you to contact them to arrange the delivery, I was so happy with it.
(Sept. 12, 2010) After 2 years, everything works fine. Very important, don't put too much clothes in one load, after a few try, I know how to balance for every load. This mini washer machine is perfect to let me separate the colors of the clothes and my daughter's clothes in different loads. I can wash and do something else at the same time, and no more wait at the laundry anymore. I love it.

After reading a lot of reviews on this product, I thought I'll chance it and get one, as I really did not want to use the public machines. What a surprise. I assembled as pictured and explained and had no trouble (after I've read some horror stories on bad assembly due to assembly instructions). I positioned the machine on a roller platform and made sure it was level. No problem. I also took some advise from some reviews and hooked the inlet/outlet pipes together with a tie at the faucet connection. I'm glad I did this - the water comes out really fast and forceful and would have unhooked the pipe if I just let it hook over the kitchen sink.
On the first hook-up I did 3 loads back to back and had no problems. On my second laundry day I did 5 loads back to back. On the fifth load I overloaded the tub with laundry and the machine made a few grinding noises. It kept on washing though. (Note to self: DO NOT OVERLOAD.)
The tub is bigger than I expected and would fit half a full washer load. (I could fit 1 pair jeans, 2 t-shirts, 1 pair shorts, 2 pair socks, 5 pair underwear - no problem). I also used a little too much soap on the first few loads - still saw soap in final rinse water.
Last week did 3rd laundry day - machine sounds fine (after overfull load the previous wash day) and did 2 loads back to back.
The laundry comes out clean and the tub (no agitator) is wonderful on my delicates.
I am really, really happy with my purchase and would highly recommend this washer to anyone in an apartment with no washer hookup pipes/outlet.

I have now owned this machine for a little over two years, and I must say...it is pretty good. During this time I have been washing clothes on average about twice a week. I have a family of four and here are my comments for the machine:
Pros -
can get close very clean (if you do not overload)
convenient - can fit into a corner of your kitchen and slide it out when you need it.
great for baby clothes and underwear
spins clothes very dry, clothes don't drip and are just damp to the touch so you can hang things on a drying rack, or heater to dry completely
Cons-
it really cannot hold that many clothes at all, in order for your clothes to get really clean, you should probably only fill it about half-way on high
FOr more than one person, you are going to have to do clothes ATLEAST twice a week in order to not have dirty laundry laying around
I was annoyed with the machine for a while, but now I've resigned myself that it is what it is. Its great so long as you don't overload it. It does not have an agitator, so the only way it can get your clothes clean is if they have alot of room to move around in there.
I now use the machine everyday to wash my cloth diapers and I must say, to my somewhat surprise, it is doing a great job at keeping them clean.
Especiallay for baby/little kid clothes, and cloth diapers, its a great investment. DOn't expect it to do what a big Kenmore can, but it is a workhorse so far.

I dont have much to add regarding this product as everything seems to have been covered by other reviewers so I'll give you the pro's and con's of my experience:
PRO's
1. No more trips to the laundromat or my parent's home. I no longer need to purchase cards or fall prey to the availability of machines or have to hope that the machines are clean and working properly. This sure beats lugging my laundry around.
2. My washer arrived in good condition--esp. in comparison to the experience of others.
3. Affordable price.
CONS:
1. The instruction manual is complicated because it is not very accurate nor is it clear cut.
2. If you happen to be someone who is not detail oriented, then you will almost always have to deal with a leak or two or three. The positioning of the hoses can make the difference between a normal laundry day and an annoying time.
3. Returning the product is such a hassle that you'll end up wanting to chalk up the loss.
4. If you plan on using the machine for more than two people, you may want to reconsider purchasing this item as the depth of the machine is not extensive, AT ALL.
5. No dryer options, but hey you can't get everything.
6. If you have a house, opt for a standard washer and dryer. If you plan to use this in an apartment, never leave the machine unattended for long and make sure to leave towels lying around in case a spill occurs before you notice.
