I bought this new oven to replace a toaster oven of about 10 years of age. The one I gave up worked fine but looked like it had done some serious work. We cleaned it up and sent to a child's dorm room. We replaced it this Christmas with the Hamilton 6-slice Toaster and now less than three month later it looks about like the one we gave up. The heat seeps out the door and yellows the while finish around the door. I try cleaning it with different cleaners and most do nothing. Those that help also take the blue markings off of the dials. If I keep cleaning, I will not be able to use the oven.

I wrote to Hamilton Beach as I was sure this could not be normal. Three months of one to two toast a day is normal wear and tear and it should not look worse than the machine I sent off to a college dorm.

Unfortunately, this discoloration is possible with white toaster ovens.
This is caused by the foods being cooked in the unit and venting out.
There is no way to prevent his from occurring.

So be warned... if you want a toaster over that works but you can store off in a closet some where...this is the over for you. If you care what your kitchen looks like...keep looking.
