Customer Review: Great Machine - NON EXISTENT Customer Service

I have had the machine for a few months now. It seems to work very well and it makes nice popcorn. I also bought the company's popcorn as well. Great Northern popcorn. You have to let the unit heat up the oil for at least four minutes for it to work well. Then it will pop most of the kernels. None of these machines will pop them all.
There isn't a lot of clearance above the kettle so be careful you don't burn your hands adding the tube of oil, etc. Cleanup is a chore. You cannot immerse the kettle so be careful. The inside bottom tray lifts out and the trap door in the front comes out as well. The inside of the clear windows is easily done with some Windex and a paper towel.
I ordered the top only, but ended up wanting the cart. The Red ones have not been available on the DTX International websites (Discount Tommy, Superior Popcorn)so I have been trying to call for a few months to find out when they will have them and therein lies the problem.
NO HUMAN ANSWERS THE PHONE NO MATTER WHEN YOU CALL AND THEY WILL NOT CALL YOU BACK AFTER YOU LEAVE THEM A MESSAGE AFTER LISTENING TO THE CHOICES.
I have tried calling when they open, when they are an hour in, two hours in, near the end of the day, etc. They do not answer the phone. You are ALWAYS routed to a voice mail and instructed to leave a message and they will NOT return your call. Tried being polite, being insistent, being polite, being annoyed, being humble, being docile, calling while sitting in the bathtub, calling while shopping, calling my Senator, calling the New York Times, but forget it. THEY ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT CALL YOU BACK - EVER.
Now I have not had any problems with the machine. I like it. However if they refuse to speak to customers when they want to purchase something or get an ETA on an item not in stock, imagine if you have a problem with one of these machines??
Bottom line: Recommended.... as long as you are willing to gamble that the one you buy will have no problems. Mine didn't. If you do have a problem, I am afraid DTX (AKA: Discount Tommy, Superior Popcorn)will not speak with you under any circumstances. Well, maybe if you are related to someone who works there. Maybe?
