Customer Review: Quality not what it used to be

I had an old granite ware roaster from the late 80's which I used for twenty years at least bi-weekly. It was virtually indestructible with a nice weight and a thick smooth glaze. Was very sad when it started to get pinholes and I looked for a replacement from the same company. Well, these new roasters are just like a cheap knock-off even though they have the same manufacturer. The material is so thin that it bends very easy. The edges are mostly unrolled and sharp enough to cut yourself just by handling it. And what the glaze concerns, my nail polish provides better coverage and many of those little enamel specks are unprotected and feel rough when you glide your hand over it. In short the 'Made in USA' label does not mean better quality but more equal to 'Made in China'. Why do I continue to buy granite ware? Because I am optimistic that maybe they will improve this product again and I absolutely love they way granite ware cooks, browns and bakes. I have not found anything that comes close to that yet.
