About a year ago, I bought a spatula at my grocery store identical to the one in this picture. I use it mostly for stirring scrambled eggs in the pan. After a while I noticed that leaving the spatula in the pan for a moment would melt little nicks in the plastic handle.
Today the handle broke in half. I can't find a replacement handle. Other than this, I love the spatula.
The head of the spatula is also removable; other reviewers for other similar spatulas have noted that food particles can get in here and cause bacteria growth.
So now I'm shopping for a spatula that is silicone from head to toe.
Just a heads-for someone looking for their first silicone spatula.
