I purchased this set of egg cup because they were metal and the open spiral design. I use them with a steam cooker that I have had for years rather than purchase an additional "egg cooker". Why buy and additional appliance when I have one that will work with a little thought as to how to hold eggs upright. I pierce the rounded top of the egg, set them in the steamer, and in about ten minutes I have perfectly cooked soft eggs for breakfast.....fifteen minutes if I want them fully cooked. Four holder were redundant for my needs but they were not expensive.
