Customer Review: Never Again!

Buyer beware of vendor OTCRx4U. If your order arrives damaged, you may be in for a world of hurt. I bought four 24 packs of Glad straws through Amazon from the vendor OTCRx4U. The four packs of straws arrived taped to each other with a massive amount of tape and no external box. After struggling to get through the tape, I could see that the package was wet and the internal boxes of straws were soggy. Since the bottom was wet, I have to assume that the package was sitting in a pool of something. I didn't want to take the chance of putting these potentially contaminated straws in my mouth.
No problem, I thought. The Seller will replace these contaminated straws. I called customer service of OTCRx4U, the Seller. The employee couldn't have been nicer. He apologized and said, "We will resolve the case by tomorrow. We will definitely call you tomorrow." After three days with no return call, I phoned back and was referred to his supervisor. The supervisor said several times rudely and bluntly, "It's your problem, lady." "There will be no replacement." "No refund." "I've sent them out a couple times with no box and they arrived OK. So, it's YOUR problem, lady."
After spending precious hours working with OTCRx4U and Amazon via emails and phone calls over a period of 3 weeks, the vendor requested that I ship the straws back. Amazon wanted the straws shipped with insurance, UPS tracking, and a signature requirement confirmation. Shipping was to cost $118 to ship back $74.60 worth of straws. OTCRx4U still had not confirmed that they would pay for the return shipping and it wasn't clear if OTCRx4U was considering a full refund or a partial refund for the original order of straws.
I made one more call to Amazon and explained the dilemma. Amazon decided to step in and bypass this whole mess by giving us the $74.60 refund themselves. Bless Amazon! They stand behind their name. The only pleasurable part of this experience was dealing with the courteous, professional folks at Amazon. This is why I buy most of my stuff through Amazon.
The moral of this story is DO buy from Amazon for their implicit guarantee. If you deal with the vendor OTCRx4U, know that you may run into a similar nightmare if there is a problem with your order. I personally will never place an order with OTCRx4U again, not even through Amazon.
