I read a review that raved about this knife set against other popular name brands, so maybe my expectations where too high. The knives are razor sharp and work well. I wish they weren't so flimsy thin and light, but I think the very low price reflects this so I really can't complain. Nice knives for the price. They cut well and are easy to grip. The only thing I don't like is that the black handles all dulled after a few washings. I have hand-washed them all and all have discolored. They are not that bad, but the shiny polished look is gone, replaced by a dull almost grey color. These cut amazingly well and stay super sharp for ages. In addition, they're so cheap! Yes, they're serrated, so it'll be more expensive to sharpen them than regular knives... but whenever they do get dull, it'll cost less to buy a brand new set than to pay to get them -- or even normal flat knives -- sharpened!

Are you serious? An entire 14 piece knife set for under 20 bucks? These are sharper than my Henckles set. Wash them by hand and they'll last just fine. Did I mention they're sharp? VERY sharp. We use them everyday. The steak knives are great, too. For added bonus the old infomercial is amazing. Don't hesitate to pick these up.Customer Review: Ginsu Knife Set

I bought this set since we had worn out the set we received 14 years ago when I got married. I am happy with the set and the low price of the set. The knives work well and seem to be of higher quality than the price would suggest. Only time will tell how long they will last, but I think for sure I will get a ton of use out of the set.
