Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of George Foreman GRP4 Next Grilleration 72 Square Inch White Removable Plate GrillCustomer Review: Horrible-Does Not Get Hot Enough, Creates Rubbery Food Summary: 1 Stars
I have no idea why people like this grill. It does not get hot enough and it wrecks your food by making it rubbery and boiled tasting. I have tried to use it 3 times and everytime the food came out bad. Last night I cooked filet mignon - - a cut of meat hard to ruin - - and it was not the appropriate temperature. It does not even create the illusion of being grilled as it didn't even leave grill marks. I have tried boneless chicken and burgers and all would have been a million times tastier cooked in a pan on the stove. I am throwing my grill away, unless I can get the manufacturer or Amazon to take it back.
Customer Review: Much better than the old Foreman grills Summary: 5 Stars
I used to love my old Foreman grill, but because it was heavy and hard to clean in the sink, I threw it away when I moved and did not replace it. The new version with removable plates is 100 times better. It is so much easier to clean and takes out the "clunky" factor. Having a Foreman again makes it easy to pull a Omaha Burger out the freezer and cook it up quickly. Foreman grills are masterful at making juicy (not dry) chicken breasts and pork chops, which is not always easy to do. Hopefully the machine holds up over time, but I got a lot of use out my old one, so I am not worried. I would give it a try....
Customer Review: Easy to clean. Summary: 3 Stars
Greetings,
PRO: Easy to clean, cooks decently although not as well as the non-removable version.
CON: More expensive than non-removable version, potential safety issue, doesn't cook as well as the non-removable version.
It's this simple: easier to clean - feature cost vs better cooking. I won't write about the functionality of this grill since everyone is familiar with what this grill can do. This boils down to a question of how much extra would you pay for easier cleaning at the cost of better cooking.
*Three stars means that I was satisfied with my purchase.
Customer Review: No frills version Summary: 5 Stars
I had the large George Foreman grill for quite a while. I loved cooking with it. I did not like cleaning it! My family got smaller, so I didn't need the large grill any longer. I found this one, which is just the right size for two, or three people. This grill doesn't have a timer like the large one did. For about one third of the price, I could care less about the timer. It cooks just like the big one, really fast and grease free. The big plus is the grill plates come off easily and can go in the dishwasher. I highly recommend this grill!
Customer Review: Original grill is better and cheaper Summary: 1 Stars
I loved the original Foreman grill. When the nonstick coating wore off the plates the grill became extremely difficult to clean. I expected the Next Grilleration to perform as well as the original but with the added advantage of removable plates. This was not the case; the plates took a long time to reach grilling temperature and were not able to maintain this temperature when the meat was grilling. The meat steamed more than grilled.
I returned the grill and replaced it with a first generation George Forman. I am now very satisfied!
