Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of George Foreman GRP4 Next Grilleration 72 Square Inch White Removable Plate GrillCustomer Review: A good product-plates removable! Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this George Foreman Grill to replace the older, smaller grill which I have that still works fine. I needed a larger grill that could fit multiple items (like 2-3 burgers or steaks), and that was easier to clean up.
This grill fit the bill perfectly!
The only drawback I can identify is that, as other reviewers mention, it does seem to take longer to heat up, but that's a small price to pay for the fact that the grill plates are removable and much easier to wash. I can just let them soak in the sink, and clean them up in a snap later. The grill does heat up sufficiently, I would say approximately 10-12 minutes to be at a nice hot temperature. Overall, the performance is just as good as my older, smaller George Foreman. Being picky, but I wish the cord was a little longer, but that's usually the case with all small appliances.
Customer Review: Easy to Use, Easy to Clean! Summary: 4 Stars
Yep, trying to eat healthier! This grill is great for cooking lots of yummy, healthy foods. White fish tastes soo yummy when cooked with this! Wow.. Soooo easy to clean too. Love that the plates come off for cleaning.
Couple things though:
1. The cord is really really really SHORT. You'd have to be right next to the outlet. Don't know about any of you but my kitchen space doesn't allow for much of that...I made it happen but still it's too close for comfort in it's new home. The cord really really needs to be longer. :-(
2. The drip tray is so easily moved... wish it could have some sort of way to attach it to the grill? Annoying...
but all in all it's a great little grill! Plus it cooks the food so fast. I really love that part. ;-)
Have Fun cookin'!
Customer Review: Removeable Grill Plates Are Very Appreciated! Summary: 5 Stars
We had the old small George Foreman grill and I liked how food came out using it but since the grill plates weren't removeable cleanup was a chore so when I found out about a George Foreman grill with removeable grill plates we immediately set out to get one and I'm really happy that we now own this grill, it is not the one with the timer but we really didn't need that anyway and I'm just happy that I can take the grills out and wash them in the sink and I just feel it is more sanitary then the old grill and not being able to put it in the sink and give it a proper clean I worried about bacteria buildup but now with this new grill I just take the grill plates out and wash them in the sink and cleanup is a breeze and I don't worry about bacteria and I very highly recommend this grill!
Customer Review: slow to heat up - doesn't get as hot as others Summary: 3 Stars
This will be my 4th George Foreman Grill in about 10 years. I think they have a life span of about 3 years but I love them so much I always buy another. I should add that they get a lot of use in our house - usually about 3 times a week. I was intrigued by the removable plates in this one and I have to admit, that feature gets a 5 star rating. However, this model takes way longer to heat up. The directions say 7 minutes (the little one I replaced took 3 to 5) but even waiting 7 it doesn't get hot enough to sear the food. I have yet to cook something and have it look like it was grilled with those nice marks. I still am a huge George Foreman fan but this model only gets 3 stars from me. I will buy another GF someday but probably not this model.
Customer Review: Easy to use and clean Summary: 5 Stars
This is a good counter-top grill. It's good for things like pre-formed burgers, hot dogs, thin pork chops, small steaks, and fish fillets. I also tried to make a panini with it, but that didn't do as well as the other food items. The cooking plates are easily removed for cleaning. The unit heats up quickly, but lacks a temperature control so everything cooks at the same temperature. You have to watch thicker food items as they could burn and not cook evenly. These type grills are great for convenience sake, and are nice in the fact that grease drains away from the food into a collector tray that sits in front of the grill. My son loves this thing and I kind of like it too. It has a limited scope, but what it does, it does pretty well.
