Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of George Foreman GR26CB Family Size Plus Grill with Cookbook, WhiteCustomer Review: For those who don't like to cook... Summary: 5 Stars
I don't like to cook. I don't even like to do outside barbeques! But The George Foreman Grill is kind of cramping my style - I'm having fun using it. It's easy to use, grills fast, cleans easily and quickly, and gives meats a really great taste. My wife gets home late from work and then cooks dinner for us (I know, I'm heartless - but, like I said, I hate cooking) so I've cooked some meats in minutes when she gets home. All that's left is to do some salad or veggies and our healthy meal is done being made in 15 minutes.
Hey, this is a real good thing for heartless husbands like me who refuse to cook dinner to buy. Do your wife a nice favor - get one! - and she'll find out that you aren't really so heartless when she finds dinner is ready and she didn't make it.
Customer Review: Makes food delicious, simple! Summary: 5 Stars
So far no complaints! Just got this grill a week ago and have been using it almost every day. This size is great for 2 people, and is a breeze to clean up (using the wet paper towel method). I don't bother with the drip tray, I just move the grill to the side of the sink and let it drip in the sink. I have a sink spray that can easily wash the grease and burnts off the grill and side of the sink. The first time grilling the chicken, I overdid it...it was dry. I just didn't imagine that it would cook the chicken that quick. Other than that, I've made bacon, portuguese sausages, kabobs, seafood, and they all tasted great, without the need to add butter or oil. It all lays in how you marinade your food and how you spice it up. All in all, it was a great investment!
Customer Review: The Lean Mean Grilling Machine... Summary: 5 Stars
Hello there allI am here to tell you about the grilling machine. By far the best kitchen investment you can make (well I suppose a fridge would come first!) Anyway, as a former restaurant cook I can tell you that this thing is quality. We used to have grooved grills that we affectionately called the "groovey grill" and this George's machine is groovey too. Cleaning is a cinch too. Just take two paper towels, double folded, soaked with water and put between the cooking surfaces after you remove the food. Close it up and unplug. Eat your food and when you're done simply wipe clean. What could be easier? Ordering in or going out you say? Think of the money you'll save cooking at home with this grill. Take it from me friends...George's grill rocks!
Customer Review: I wasn't sure.... Summary: 5 Stars
But I am SO glad I purchased this grill. I didn't realize how much better everything tasted grilled. We put hamburgers, pork loin steaks, hotdogs, chicken breasts and grilled potatoes on it so far. It's quick and easy. It took a few times to figure out how to clean it, since it doesn't clean well after it sits and the food dries on. We have learned to spray it with a little water from a spray bottle, plug it in for just a few minutes, and then wipe it down with a wet paper towel. It comes very clean! If you aren't sure what size to purchase, buy one larger before smaller. There are only two of us and we are glad we purchased this size...the smaller one would have been too small for what we use it for. This just fits two ready made hamburger patties.
Customer Review: Very easy to use and clean Summary: 4 Stars
I received this for Chrsitmas and I must say that it has pretty much been the only thing I use to cook meat. I don't have a grill so I was pretty much pan frying everything. This grill cooks the food evenly and the times in the booklet are pretty much on target. If the food isn't cooking on one side, I can flip it and not worry about it. I have never had any meat that was undercooked. The cleanup is very easy...wipe it down with a damp cloth. The most I've had to do to clean it is spray some 409 on it. One problem I had-when I try to cook things consecutively I find that I have to unplug it and let it cool off or else the next thing I cook is blackened. I never thought that I would want one of these things but now that I have it I'm glad I do.
