Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of George Foreman GR26CB Family Size Plus Grill with Cookbook, WhiteCustomer Review: Best Cooking Invention Ever! Summary: 5 Stars
I've been living on my own for a few years now, and have never really gotten into cooking... I've been living off frozen dinners and take out. I finally decided to try this grill, and it's awesome! It's unbelievably fast and easy... I just season meat and veggies and throw them on the grill and I have a great dinner in 15 minutes.
So far I've cooked fish and chicken and tons of vegetables... portabello mushrooms are the best, coated with olive oil and salt and peppered, but everything has been good.
The only thing I would say negative about this grill is that I bought my mom the bigger, stainless steel version, and the fact that it has a digital timer is really convenient. With this grill, you have to check the clock constantly, but the timer on my mom's grill lets you know automatically when your food is done. I think it might be worth the extra $15 to get the nicer grill, but this one's great too.
Customer Review: Great idea but disappointed!!! Summary: 1 Stars
I am on my second GF grill and that is where it ends!! I love the idea and it's a great and fast way to prepare meals but I am going to have to find another brand with a better reputation for their non-stick surface, hopefully with removable plates and just a better design for the grease drippings. I thought it was perhaps just bad luck but I had the same issues with the second grill as well. First the grease drips down under the bottom side of the grill and runs down the leg and onto my counter no matter how I have the drip tray postitioned I always have a small puddle of grease under the front feet of the grill and on my counter. Second the non-stick doesn't last long at all...it is at the point where I can't get all of the residue off, very disappointed. Now I am on a mission to find something to take its place, hopefully I have better luck this time.
Customer Review: Excellent for a gift and yourself Summary: 4 Stars
My wife and I got this as a wedding present not too long ago and it has been arguably the most used appliance. Easy to use and moderatley easy to clean. The cook books that it comes with are very useful and I for one was really surprised at how many types of dishes you could actually make on the grill. Not to mention there are some great marinades and rubs. A few things worth mentioning. I would love to see what size chicken breasts they are using when they say this cooks five at a time. The most I have been able to get are two full size boneless skinless with some room to spare. Also clean very, and I mean very thoroughly after grilling fish. You will have beef patties that smell like salmon if you don't. Had we not received as a gift, my wife and would not have thought twice about buying this ourselves. This is a great gift and a great purchase.
Customer Review: Good little grill for indoor cooking! Summary: 4 Stars
I like this little grill. It is handy to keep in the closet and pull out for cooking dinner. It cooks meat pretty good, I just wish there was some kind of temperature control, with this grill it is either on or off, that is it. It cooks the outside of meat (especially chicken) a little faster than then it should for the insdie to catch up sometimes the outside will be slightly burnt. My suggestion would be to slice you meats on the thin side. Not the best grill for steaks because of the uneven cooking. It is very handy, though, to have a grill inside. Cord is on the short side. Clean up is easy if you spray BOTH top and bottom with cooking spray and then as soon as cooking is done, place a wet paper towel on the surfaces. Later when it cools and you go to clean it, it will wipe clean.
Customer Review: Not impressed!!! Summary: 2 Stars
My family and friends and everyone else in America rave about the George Foreman grill so I bought one. It is everything the ads promise but I don't like it. It gets very hot and seems to dry everything out. I bought some expensive steaks from Omaha steaks and upon cooking them the outside got cooked and dried out quickly but the inside was not done enough. I was also not happy with how everything had to be a certain thickness to cook properly on both sides. My husband and I like our burgers thin and I had to keep flipping them because they were not thick enough for the machine. I ran into the same problem with thin sliced chicken breasts.I know everyone else in America likes this product so I guess it is just me, but I'd rather go outside and use my good old fashioned gas grill!
