Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of George Foreman GR20WHT XL Grill

Customer Review: SANDWICH CHAMP //GOURMET CHUMP
Summary: 4 Stars

I could not imagine cooking a quality piece of meat or vegetables on this grill. It works great for a quick sandwich, chicken or hamburger. Put the meat on and watch it- check for doneness then put some cheese on the meat and set aside. Then take a bun or hoagie roll, slice it and brush it with olive oil and put in grill for a few minutes....then assemble the sandwich with condiments...perfect taste!! Just like any type of cooking-proper seasoning, and proper preparation will result accordingly. You can't cook a sow's ear into a filet mignon. Teflon does wear out eventually even on expensive cook-ware. You will replace a 100 dollar skillet a quickly as you will replace a 100 dollar grill. Live with it and enjoy it for what it is designed for!

Customer Review: Nothing Better
Summary: 5 Stars

I am a kitchen gadget junky acording to my friends. In other words instead of having tools, like you fellows out there. I have kitchen gadjets. But, I use all of them but, not all at once of course. One of my favorite kitchen gadgets is the Lean Mean Cooking Machine. In fact I have used it so much that the name as worn off. It cooks both sides at once, so cooking time is cut in half. The fat drips away from the food into the tray, so it is healthier for us. But, the best part, is the way the food tastes. With a few seasonings steak tastes like it was cooked outdoors in about 10 to 15 min. Pork chops 5 to 10min. Vegtables, 1 to 2 min. Cripy but not mushy. All exceptionaly good. It is well worth the money.

Customer Review: Great Grilling
Summary: 4 Stars

We have used this grill for about a year and love it. We mostly use it for burgers, chops, and chicken breasts. They all cook well, but we've found it best to do the chicken breasts in strips about 1" to 1 1/2" wide. Otherwise the outside gets over-done by the time the inside is done. The grill really does drain off the fat, which is a big plus. Clean up was a pain at first, but we've learned a few tricks. 1) Place the grill so that it overhangs the kitchen sink (ours is stainless steel). This eliminates using the drip pans which are rather small. 2) Carefully clean the grill surface with a wet paper towel while still warm, but unplugged. If left to cool completely, it is harder to clean.

Customer Review: Cooking made Fun & Easy
Summary: 5 Stars

While working as a Demo Coordinator at a local retail store, I became familiar with the George Foreman Grill. Everything you prepare on this grill is wonderful. You have never tasted grilled chicken until it's been done on the George Foreman. Plus you can do almost anything on this grill, fish, meat (boneless is best) fresh veggie. My families favorite is "bacon and pecan rolls" all done on the George Foreman. Everything cooks very quickly. Boneless chicken breasts take about 5 to 7 minutes depending on size. Don't overcook. It really does take ONLY 5-7 minutes. This chicken "melts in your mouth." Thank you, George. You've made cooking at home a family tradition again.

Customer Review: makes the BEST grilled cheese sandwiches in the world!
Summary: 5 Stars

i received the grill as a gift and wondered what i would do with it at first--i haven't eaten meat in 4 years...

i soon discovered that mr. foreman has given us the incredible "grilled cheese sandwich" machine! it HONESTLY makes the best grilled cheese in the world--even putting the sandwiches that my mother made when we were kids to shame! the cheese melts evenly and the bread toasts without burning--unless you leave it in there too long! and it makes these really cool grill marks on the bread--fun food at it's finest!

i have yet to use it for veggies, though my friends swear by it. maybe this weekend...

p.s. the drip tray is great for any cheese that "escapes!"
