I just got ours Saturday and we have already used it for hamburgers and buns, scapple and a grilled cheese sandwich. !/4 cup of fat came out of the two hamburgers. My husband, who is overweight and has a heart condition, said the hamburger was dry. It was but watching that fat go into the catcher instead of his belly was very rewarding. I ate catsup, relish, tomato and lettuce on my burger which made it juicy enough. I loved being able to cook the buns at the same time. I prefer hamburger made on the grill, but will never eat it again made in the frying pan. Johan makes scapple (a Pennsylvania treat which he buys in bulk on trips there and freezes) almost every day for lunch. He claimed it wasn't fatty, since there was never fat left in the frying pan, but 1/8 cup of fat drained out of his scrapple on the George Foreman grill. It was crunchy and not dry at all.
The grilled cheese sandwich tasted fine, although the outside of the bread was dry, and we are used to it fried. He will probably go back to frying grilled cheese sandwiches in a little olive oil. Anyway, I am glad we got this and want to try it on sausages, fish and small steaks too.
Also it is really easy to clean.

The electric appliance's appeal lies in its simplicity and countertop convenience--not to mention its fat-fighting ability. The double-sided grill (a 6-by-7-inch nonstick cooking surface) cooks burgers, steaks, chicken, sausage, fish, shrimp, and vegetables top and bottom in minutes. (Recipes accompany the grill.)
