I have the smallest, bottom line George Foreman grill, the Champ, with the turquoise bun warmer top. This early series had transparent tops in colors inspired by iMac computers (although my iMac was purple). It's perfect. Like all George Foreman grills, it drains the fat off due to the slanted grill plates, and cooks almost instantly thanks to the double plate design.
It's so small as to cook one steak at a time, but that only takes ten minutes, less time than that for fish. It gets used a lot, so it's always dirty. The non-stick teflon plates are easy to clean, but they're not removeable as with some later models. The only thing that could improve this grill is making it easier to clean. And here's the one, two punch. One- the grill, two- the sponge. The sponge ribs are spaced to exactly fit the grill grooves. A very light scrub with the gray side, wipe with a paper towel, and it's ready for the next steak. You get three sponges, but one may be all you'll ever need (don't use the blue sponge side). I know Salton just bought George Foreman's name, but Salton, known long ago for inventing yogurt makers and hot dog grillers, has always been a leader in affordable, well- designed products. The George Foreman grill is every guy's best friend, and every time you use the grill sponge, you'll thank the Champ.

I've owned a Foreman grill for years. I always had to put forth extra effort to get into the grooves, so much that the coating came of over the years, causing even more sticking and more scrubing. Although I loved my grill for the ease of cooking, I finally had to retire the grill, even though it still did a cooked well. The cleanup was a chore.
When I received a new grill as a gift, I thought I'd give the sponges a try, and I'm glad I did. Now, cleaning is much easier. The sponge has 2 sides, one for normal cleaning, and one for tougher jobs. The grooved design makes allows you to get between the grooves with less force, meaning less wear on the grill surface.

I bought these special sponges, because my grill is hard to clean. I have an older model, so the surfaces aren't detachable from the grill. It's not that food is so hard to get off, but with a regular sponge, it takes a while to get into each area. With the special sponges, that isn't necessary. They are shaped specifically to fit into the ridges at the same time, so all I have to do is soap up a sponge and rub it back and forth over the grill surfaces. Plus, there is a scrubbing side as well as a sponge side. They also rinse clean very quickly. It's much faster than with a regular sponge! I BOUGHT THESE SPONGES TO GO WITH MY INDOOR OUTDOOR GRILL I RECENTLY BOUGHT... WE HAVE USED THE GRILL MANY TIMES SO FAR ONLY INDOORS... AND THESE SPONGES MAKE CLEANING UP A BREEZE... IT SEEMED OVERWHELMING AT FIRST BECAUSE THE GRILL IS LARGE.... BUT WE PUT IT ON THE SMOOTH TOP OF OUR ELECTRIC RANGE AND COOK AWAY AND THEN LET IT COOL AND YOU ARE READY TO CLEAN UP... Love this product, price is well worth item, but you need to list amount of product in package. Had I known there were three sponges in each package, i would have only purchased one package versus the two now sitting in my kitchen drawer. I now see there are three listed in package, not sure if that was listed when i purchased product. They tend to shred after a while though, but makes cleanup very easy for the removable plates.
