Customer Review: Good for walnuts and pecans, but not almonds!

This is the kind of nut chopper I used for years, generally on walnuts and pecans. It makes nice sized chunks of nut that are perfect for cookies -- not the powder you can get from using a food processor. But I was lazy one night and used it for almonds, which is why I need a new one now! The blades were bent into an unuseable condition.
HOWEVER, this is better than the Progressive nut chopper I got to replace it! The blades of that one are no stronger, and the body is made of a plastic that breaks more easily than this glass. Also, there are not enough threads connecting the screw-on top from the bottom, so while cranking, the two halves often become separated. Wish I had gotten another of these instead. (But use a knife to chop almonds!)
