I received this teapot for Christmas along with some flowering teas as shown in the pictures of the teapot. I thought it was cute and different initially, but I was in for a great surprise! This is one case where the photos are no exaggeration! The teapot is as beautiful and delicate looking as the photo and with the flowering tea inside it is a stunning conversation piece. Everyone who comes to my house is delighted to see this lovely setup as the centerpiece of my table.
When heated JUST to a boil, the handle and lid get hot, but not so hot that you can't handle them bare-handed.
The flavor of any tea prepared in this pot is wonderful. No metal to lend a funny aftertaste which I happen to very sensitive too.
The pot is easily cleaned by hand, does not stain, and after 2 months of daily (and more!) use, the glass is still clear and beautiful.
The infuser insert works very well even with fine tea such as you'd get in bags. You'll get some bits seeping through, but far less than one would expect. The infuser does not have holes in it like many others do . . . it has tiny slits in the bottom edges. It does an excellent job or straining the tea leaves while allowing water to flow freely.
If there is any negative side at all, it's that the glass is very very delicate. HOWEVER - this is the trade-off for a clear view inside and the beauty itself of the pot. Heavier glass just wouldn't have the same beauty.
Can't say enough about this product! And as a nice boost . . . the customer service of the manufacturer is stellar. I dropped a piece and broke it and although the piece was not for sale, they found one for me and arranged to get it to me for the price of shipping. Wonderful!
