Customer Review: Got my money's worth - 2 years, 1.5 of those good years, time to buy a new microwave

I've had this microwave for 2 years. After 1.5 years, the heating element started to not work quite right - specifically, frozen TV dinners started to cook incredibly unevenly - frozen in the middle, finger-burning hot on the edges. Now it's gone to searing, finger-burning, steam-filled hot within less than a minute - no matter what you cook, so clearly it's time to buy a new microwave. This one is also so light, it slides and moves around far too easily on the countertop or microwave table.
Considering the inexpensive price I paid, the microwave lasted long enough. For my next purchase, I'm considering a stainless-steel old-school style microwave.

Worked well for the first year. I got it as a family microwave for x-mas 05', broken late feb 07'. The glass turntable is on a PLASTIC holder with PLASTIC wheels for support. The plastic melted in the back and caused a fire, it left the entire unit full of smoke and I think melted the glass!? Either way even for the price it's a not very good, I'm going to be caustous with my next GE purchase as well..
