Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Fusionbrands 3-Inch Silicone Poach Pod Egg Poaching Tool, GreenCustomer Review: Another Poach Pod fan! Summary: 5 Stars
A few months ago, I switched over completely to just eating egg whites and not the yolks, and poaching just the egg whites is almost impossible. When I saw these, I figured it was worth a try.
I gave each pod a quick spray of Pam, and put two egg whites in each one instead of a whole egg. After placing them in a skillet of "almost, but not quite boiling water" and covering with a lid, a few minutes later they were done perfectly. They slid out without any fuss right onto a piece of toast and breakfast was ready -- delicious! I know I will get a lot of use from these handy gadgets!
Customer Review: Less mess poached eggs Summary: 4 Stars
These are really handy for a less mess version of making poached eggs. I feel like they aren't as fool proof as they claim to be, because it took some getting used to on the cooking time (but I think it depends on if you want the slightly runny or firm eggs). I'm also pretty sure that the light green cook at a different rate than the darker green, because despite starting them at the same time one always comes out a little runnier than the other, consistently the light green.
Once you get used to them, they're awesome to use, and really do save on clean up. I'd recommend them.
Customer Review: Great if you use it right! Summary: 4 Stars
The first time I used this I used a napkin to put oil on the inside. I had a little trouble getting the eggs out. They washed easily as I just turned them inside out and the egg came right off. After that I left them inside out, rubbed with butter, flipped them back, added the eggs and cooked. When done, I ran a table knife around the eggs before removing and they just flipped out. I also found it worked better to have the water boiling first and then turn the heat down. The eggs turn out looking great and it was easy to prepare 4 eggs at once with different degrees of hardness.
Customer Review: I can' find mine..help Summary: 5 Stars
I love poached eggs and have them several times a week. I have used these fusion pods for several years. They make a perfect poached egg. I was cleaning mine the other day and I thought I put them back in the drawer in the regular place. Unfortunately, they have left the building! I have looked everywhere. Has anyone seen them? They must be in the same place that all my other things, I forgot where I put them, is. Oh well, will buy another set, cannot stand going back to the old method of slowly dripping the egg into near boiling water and getting a blobby half or over cooked egg!
Customer Review: Works great Summary: 5 Stars
I like to eat a couple eggs for breakfast when I'm in a hurry and I usually hardboil them since it is the easiest way to cook eggs. The problem is if you overcook them than you get an overcooked egg and if you undercook them they are hard to peel. I love my eggs a little runny but then I have to deal with peeling it which is a pain. This device solves that problem. I get a runny egg without having to peel it, just crack it open right into the pod. I love this thing. Plus, the egg comes out looking like a little cake and fits perfectly on an english muffin if that is how you eat them.
