My comments for this knife set are the same as for the Young Cooks Cutting Set (with the red knives and glove). I bought them both so that my son learns about food safety and keeping raw meats separate from vegetables and other ingredients. My eight-year-old loves to help in the kitchen and wants to do it all - especially cutting and chopping. The knife in this set is the right size for his hand and sharp enough to get the job done. The glove is a great idea, and helps me relax a bit as I supervise him. The glove takes _forever_ to dry after washing, which is why I did not rate this five stars. Overall, though, this is a great set to bridge the gap between little kids "helping" in the kitchen and big kids actually cooking.Customer Review: good beginner knife

I purchased this set a few years ago. My daughter (10) has small hands and is only now really fitting the glove. The knife itself has worked well in terms of size and shape since I purchased it. A fellow chef thought this knife was quite a good quality for a children's knife. My daughter has enjoyed learning how to cut all sorts of things with a knife that really fits her hand and the glove really does give me peace of mind.Customer Review: Decent not great

My 9 year old son had a hard time getting the glove on and felt things poking his hand. The knife is a good size and the blade guard fits tightly and securly. The blade itself is pretty cheaply made, but is stainless steel and seems fairly sharp.
I'm not sure if the glove will turn out to be of any use at all.

This product is great for kids! I'm 13 and i got this for christmas because i love cooking. You have to wear the glove because I was stupid enough not to wear it and I cut myself. I was bleeding for 2 days. But, I think this product is nice for kids who love to cook like me.Customer Review: Kinfe a hit with grandchildren!

Our 5 and 7-year-old grandchildren were very excited to get the Rachel Ray knife, and have used it several times already helping to fix dinner and learning to cook. It makes them feel grown up, and their parents like the built-in safety feature of the protective glove!
