No, this is not a $200 fancy-smancy chef's knife...it's a less than $20 great all-around knife. I would definitely recommend this knife for people just starting out in life and/or on a budget....it's a good knife at a great price. I use this knife daily and it cuts well. The orange grip may not be the prettiest, but even with wet hands you can easily hold/use this knife with confidence.
Yes, it needs to be hand washed and dried immediately (or you'll get spots on the blade). But I would buy this knife again and again for the daily use I get out of it.
