Customer Review: Nice enough knife for the money

This knife has a good feel in your hand and cuts well. It does however have NO serrations to the edge of the blade as advertised. I looked for serrations under heavy magnification too. It is of the same orange color and has the same kind of feel to the handle as the other Gusto grip knives do, but without the stainless steel pomel or tang. I didn't care to have this particular knife included for show with the other Gusto knives and it now sits alone in one of my drawers. That being said I know I will be using this knife a lot for many things as It does cut well and feels comfortable in my hand. It's just not display material in my opinion.

Furi's Rachael Ray Gusto-Grip knives are now protected with Furi Guard¿, an antimicrobial agent proven to suppress the growth of bacteria, yeast, mold and fungi. Furi-Guard antimicrobial inhibitors are incorporated directly and permanently into the Gusto-Grip handles during the manufacturing process, giving the handle an added safeguard against microorganisms that can degrade handle materials over time! Furi Rachael Ray Gusto-Grip knives are made from the finest German CrMoV stainless steel, forged bolster, one-piece with blade and strong tang for supreme strength. The handle core is molded from ultra-tough polypropylene (PP) with an injection-molded outer layer of thermoplastic elastomer (TPE--a durable synthetic rubber).Created by Füri in cooperation with celebrity chef Rachael Ray, the Gusto-Grip line of knives are well-made, user-friendly, and fun to look at as a bonus. Designed to retain sharpness and maximize efficiency on the cutting board, Gusto-Grips blades are fashioned from a single forged piece of premium CrMoV German stainless steel. The nonslip polypropylene and rubber handles in cheerful bright orange have a comfortable reverse wedge shape that minimizes the need for squeezing and molds ergonomically to the hand. A smart touch, antimicrobial protection on the grip limits bacteria, mold, and deterioration.
A great little tool, this Gusto-Grip paring knife has a versatile 4-inch blade suited to trimming eyes from potatoes or slicing nectarines. The finger notch creates greater control, and the piece comes with a blade guard that is especially handy in the picnic basket or lunchbox. A match for the Gusto-Grip chef's and santoku knives, the parer carries a limited lifetime warranty and is best washed by hand. A 3-1/2-inch Gusto-Grip parer is also available. --Emily Bedard
