Easy to use and it works as advertised.
I had one really dull knife and I did 6 swipes through the thing as suggested. Didn't do much. I thought the gizmo might not be any good or at least not up to this particular task . Another 10 swipes and this knife is sharp as the deuce.
I'm pleased. Beats trying to get the angle right on a steel or living with dull knives.
You can see the diamond pieces and really feel them sharpening as you pull the knife through the fingers. An ingenious device.
They give you ample warning, but be careful opening the thing. It's plastic and you can break it in an instant if you try to force it the wrong way.

This sharpener is a must have tool for anyone that cooks or cleans fish! This is the second one I've bought(the first one lasted a year and a half) and I use it nearly every day. The key is to use it every time you use your knives, Once you get them sharp run them through the sharpener after each use about five times and your knives will stay sharp. The only problem I've had with it is the proctector flaps tear off to easily, But that's not a big deal. I showed it to my some of my friends and they wanted one, So I ordered three more for them and they all love it. This is a very effective product and is easy to use, And I reccomend it to anyone who enjoys using sharp knives.Customer Review: Amazing Little Sharpener!!

I have never been good at sharpening knives, in fact, I'm down right horrible at it. But with this little bad boy, a few swipes and its better than brand new! I bought this based on my wonderful experience with Furi knives so when received, I immediately went and sharpened one for the "tomato test". It sliced paper thin with no pressure at all!! Proceeded to sharpen another knife and try it on chicken breast, amazing yet again!! Some stated that the plastic was cheap, it actually is a thicker, harder plastic than what I was expecting and I love the fact it is so small that I can have it in the knife drawer. This definitely lived up to the Furi standard I was use to!Customer Review: Great on Tomatos

Others give technical reviews on why this is, but here is what I've found. Upon opening and preparing to use the sharpener, I felt somewhat exposed to danger and the grip is small and apparently designed to be secured with the knuckles.
Five or six semi-hard strokes puts a nice serrated edgew on my knives that slice one hell of a tomato. The edges last longer on some knives than others, but in no case is it a long-lasting edge. One knife actually needs to be resharpened after one tomato!
If you need to sharpen knives for tomatos, then this is your sharpener.

Bought this sharpener on the recommendation from Michael Colemaco of Food Talk. I had a carving knife that I have tried sharpening with different devices and was never satisfied. So for less than $20, I got this device. Wow, I made a prime rib and was able to make paper thin slices. Just a couple of passthroughs did the job. Went like crazy in my kitchen digging out all my knives; I even tried it on my scissors. However, not the easiest to open and close but that is sort of insignificant. And I don't know how long it will last but for the price, who cares. I don't really know if I would use it on the very expensive knives.
