Customer Review: Amazing froth, awkward cleaning

I don't think I have much to say that hasn't already been said, but I wanted to throw my opinions in anyway! Let me start with the not-so-good, then I will gush about how much I love this thing overall:
While it is compact and simple to use, the unit is annoying to clean because the parts that come in contact with the food (i.e. the glass beaker and the lid with pour hatch) are permanently connected to electrical parts. I feel like I have to be extremely cautious when washing these out so as not to get any water or soap near the plugs. If the glass were a separate, removable piece (even if it weren't dishwasher safe), this product would have gotten an easy 5 stars from me. I considered it anyway, but decided this is a big enough problem that it merits a small deduction. Besides, if the pitcher breaks while you're oh-so-carefully cleaning it, then you definitely would need to replace the whole product rather than just getting a replacement pitcher. I DO like that the cord is fully detachable, at least.
Okay, other than that, the Froth au Lait MINI is seriously amazing. I'm not a coffee drinker so I mainly use it just to make flavored frothy milk for myself. I told my husband that I wanted a milk frother for Christmas after playing with my aunt's Nespresso foamer. Being an engineer, he does a lot of research, and settled on this brand after seeing how many people complained about other major brands breaking after just a few weeks or months of use. So this was under the Christmas tree and I have been enjoying the thickest, foamiest froth imaginable since then! It's simple to use: just pour milk up to (or below) the fill line and push the "on" button. It stops automatically when it's done. If you fill to the line with nonfat milk, it makes about 2.5 cups of foam with a little warm milk in the bottom (but it's really almost all foam, which I love). The foam is so thick you can literally cut it with a knife (I tried).
The flavor hatch can be a little tough to open while the machine's in use, so I usually loosen it up a little if I'm going to be using it (no big deal). My current favorite is to pour about 1/3 of a packet of really good hot chocolate mix (this week I'm using the Land-o-Lakes mint chocolate) in when the pitcher is warm to the touch but before the machine turns off. The flavor gets mixed in evenly and I get a huge cup of wonderful, chocolatey foam that is perfectly blended and doesn't even end up with the sludge you get at the bottom of your mug when you make cocoa from packets (no matter how well you think you've stirred it). I have noticed that some kinds of cocoa powder tend to cut through the foam almost instantly (someone else noted this happens with nutmeg, too), so you might need to experiment a little if you're going to try this out. Chocolate syrup works well, too!
I've been using it pretty regularly since Christmas (about 2 months) with no problems!
