Customer Review: Cool product but shoddy glue seal + DIY Fix :)

Just received two of these during a Christmas gift swap and I must say they are pretty neat.
1. The thickness of the glass seems a bit on the thin side, but maybe that comes with their "hand-blown" nature. With the comments about breaking I'll be sure to treat them nicely. Don't think I would ever put them in the dishwasher though.
2. The "finishing plug" in the bottom of the glass is the weak point in these for me. The quality is just not there. Luckily before giving these their first wash I stumbled upon the reviews here and discovered the shoddy seal job so I went about re-sealing them myself. This is how I did it:
2a: Remove the crappy hot glue seal with a dental pick or similar device. Since the glass is smooth it should come out as one blob and not leave any residue.
2b: Fire up your glue gun - let it heat up (good time to drink a beer)
2c: While holding the glass right side up (plug hole down), align the tip of your glue gun (now pointing towards the ceiling) to the hole of the glass and squeeze a small amount of glue so it forms a small half sphere on the inside of the glass.
2d: Hold the glue gun there a second or two to keep the glue warm so it has a chance to spread out.
2e: Set the glue gun down - continue to hold the glass right side up so the glue has a chance to cool and harden.
At this point you should be done and the hole should be nicely sealed. You may have to mould the glue on the outside of the glass to make the glass seat evenly when placed on a table. This may include cutting a small amount away with a knife and/or smoothing the glue with the tip of the still hot glue gun. Be gentle, you don't want to ruin you seal.
After this little craft project I proceeded to wash the stickers off of the bottoms of the glasses and get them ready for use. No water entered the glass so I am a happy camper :) Good Luck!
I would think if water ever enters the glass the seal should be completely removed and left upside down to evaporate the moisture. A blow dryer or heat gun could be used to quickly and thoroughly dry them out. Then reseal them with my steps above. Do not heat the glass too rapidly as they may crack or shatter.
