Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Fred Cool Shooters Shot Glass MoldCustomer Review: What a fun item! Summary: 5 Stars
Originally I received this from a friend as a gift and we've had so much fun with it that I bought it for a girlfriend that was turning 21. These are great because it's silicone and they come out of the mold pretty easily. Here are my suggestions to anyone that purchases them: Use a cold beverage in them otherwise they start to melt to quickly. To make more than the four, store them in the freezer on wax paper after removing. Try something fun like adding a bit of grenadine or lime juice after filling with water, it'll settle on the bottom which will end up being the rim of the shot glass and it'll give a bit of flavor with your shot.
Customer Review: Novel Toy for the entire family Summary: 4 Stars
Novel toy to play with. I've frozen Cranberry Juice, Orange juice, Tonic Water & others just to see what I come up with.
It works as advertised, and is only a little tricky to get out of the mold.
The shot glass starts melting in your hand right away, whether or not there's booze in the mix or inside. It can be a bit messy, so outside parties would be best.
Our favorite use for it, however, is to put Cranberry juice in it, then drop the finished shot glass into a Pepsi. Great flavor & my daughter enjoys picking it out & chewing on the pieces.
Hope this helps your decision. :)
Customer Review: Worth the "investment." Summary: 4 Stars
Neat and worth the $7. Presentation becomes a bit of a challenge due to the nature of ice, but I managed on a few occasions. Would be great for an outdoor hot tub at a ski chalet. Two things to consider: don't plan on having your ice shot glasses turn out completely clear, and don't count on them being perfectly-shaped. The thermodynamics of this mold combined with that of the typical freezer will likely yield bulges instead of sharp, well-defined edges. Google "how to make clear ice" for starters, and then experiment with placing the mold outside to freeze with snow packed into the undercarriage voids. =D
Customer Review: Awesome Novelty Summary: 5 Stars
This mold works phenomenally. I got it for a white elephant gift exchange and ending up just keeping it cause it's so cool. I've only made chocolate shot glasses(for bailey's), but I assume that making shot glasses out of water is just as easy. I melted down some chocolate chips in a double pot thingy and then poured the melted chocolate right in. Tapped the mold a bit to get bubbles out and set it in the fridge. The next day they looked and worked beautifully. Granted, it takes a lot of chocolate and the chocolate kinda melts to your hands, but it's no supposed to be practical, just fun and attention grabbing.
Customer Review: Slightly damaged, But prompt delivery Summary: 4 Stars
I ordered this item last Friday and got it today, I like the fast shipment and delivery, but when I opened the packaging I found my mold to be slightly damaged, kind of like when you pinch rubber and it ends up ripping at the bend line, that is what I have on my item, I'm not happy with the damage, would have sent it back if I didn't have to pay for shipping. But all in all, it works really well, the molds spread out the temp. so it freezes at an equal pace and it was about frozen after 1 hour so, the concept makes sense.
