I wanted the pan with the perforations at another store, it's out of stock til Sept, didn't want to wait, saw this one in another store for even less than it sells for here and bought it. I made Italian bread and it came out delish--only problem was, the bottom wasn't nearly as brown nor crisp as the rest of the bread. Without the perforations, the heat doesn't get to the bottom as is preferable. This is an esthetic problem, not one affecting taste; however, the final product was not ideal. So, I went ahead and ordered the pan with the perforations from Amazon, it's on its way. Bread baking is a new hobby for me, and I just decided, to enjoy it fully, I want the right tools; I'll skimp elsewhere--should have bought the better pan with perforations from the start and not tried to cut corners. Quite honestly though, the cost difference of this pan vs. the one with perforations is only about $8! This pan may save a little money, yes, but not enough to change my lifestyle. I think spending a little more to bake better bread for all your effort and time makes more sense.
