I used to have a rotary cutter that had a guard that was spring-loaded so the blade only came out when I pressed down to cut. That way I could slide the cutter sideways up to the ruler edge and cut. The blade on this one is always exposed and I have to carefully position it. It takes more time and I nick it on the ruler edge frequently. It has a comfortable handle, but that doesn't outweigh the drawbacks for me.Customer Review: Sharp and Accurate

I bought this cutter for use in bookbinding and papermaking projects. It cuts paper, even up to 240 gsm quickly and precisely. Using this cutter, a large framing square, and a sheet of plywood gives nearly the same results as a regular paper cutter, but provides more flexibility. I cannot comment on the durability of the blade, but if it is like other Fiskar products, I am sure I will be pleased.Customer Review: Excellent value!

I tried this cutter after using a friend's expensive (hundred dollar plus!) rotary cutter. I'm new to quilting, so I couldn't justify that kind of investment.
I've had this cutter for a month now and I love it! I don't notice any difference between it's performance and the much more expensive version my friend has. Save the money and buy this! Then you can buy more fabric! :)

I'm very happy with this nifty little tool. I have a cheap and tiny rotary cutter that I never used because it didn't work well. This is a huge improvement. The large blade and nicely shaped handle make it easy to control, and I like the easy to use safety that shields the blade when not in use. This will make cutting quilt pieces a lot easier.Customer Review: Great product

This product works great. I love the retracting feature of the blade. It makes it safer. The handle is comfortable. My only complaint is that with some thicker fabrics I have a hard time cutting (which is to be expected). For example, chenille fabric took me a couple of times to cut. Overall, great product, and I wouldn't buy another brand.
