Customer Review: wish I knew...broken into smithereens

I found this bowl in another color in the store, so I was excited to find it at Amazon in the purple. Alas, when it arrived, it was broken into a hundred pieces. Too bad they didn't package it better to protect an obviously fragile product from breakage. It merely was wrapped once in a piece of bubble wrap and that was it. No wonder it broke!
I called customer service and got a gentleman with a stong Indian accent who I could barely understand...a testament to our spiraling failing economy...Thank you, Amazon for your support of the USA! (You can be proud and join the ranks of Best Buy and XM with your out-sourced Customer Service Depts.) Even though he was very cordial, I had to ask him to repeat every sentence two or three times to try to decipher what he was saying...a struggle at best. Basically, he apologized over and over, and credited my account. He checked and said that the same item was on back-order. However, when I requested to place another order and wait for the back-ordered item, he said I would have to go on-line and place another order myself...thanks for the help...just what I wanted to do...WHAT A FIASCO!
All in all, I discovered Amazon's Packaging/Shipping dept to be less than adequate and their Customer Service dept is obviously trained to be polite but overall a huge disappointment. And no, I still don't have this item.
