I bought three of these in different colors to use as small everyday "work bowls" - I toss veggie scraps in them as I prep salads, meals, whatever; I use them to mix small amounts of ingredients or warm things for recipes; they make attractive bowls to serve nuts or party munchies. These are meant to be bowls to eat out of, but I personally would not use them to serve soups, cereal, etc. because the portions would be HUGE - or a proper portion would look skimpy in this big bowl. They are pretty enough to "live" stacked on the work board of my kitchen island, and they bring a nice little punch of color in my white kitchen. They stack - i.e. balance on top of each other in a "tower" of bowls - they do NOT nest. Very happy with my purchase and would buy them again.
