Customer Review: Size is Inaccurate and Mug is Heavy

This is not an 18 ounce mug. I measured it. It is exactly 16 ounces when filled to the brim. No one fills a coffee mug to the brim though, so count on 15 ounces. It is still one of the larger mugs available that I could see. It is a heavy mug. The ceramic is thick and apparently a good quality. The handle is large enough. But sometimes grabbing it with one hand when it is full of coffee feels a bit shaky to me and I feel a need to grab it with both hands. Once the coffee is down a ways the need to pick it up with both hands is lessened for me. It is a large mug, a bit wider than it is tall. This means the coffee cools off quicker since a larger surface area of liquid is exposed to the air than usual as compared to a taller, skinnier mug. Ever since using this mug I feel like I have to drink my coffee quicker or it will get too cool too fast. All of that said, the color scarlet is stunning. It is not as bright as the picture but still stunning to me. I am loving the Fiesta scarlet color. I have several plates and a salt and pepper shaker set in scarlet. Very cheerful. I am in red heaven.
