I was a bit skeptical when researching this product, but I figured it was worth a shot. Our 6 month old kitten Toby seemed constantly stressed out and nervous. We tried everything to comfort him but it just seemed to be part of his personality. He only seemed content when he was being held or cuddling with the other cat, and went through a phase of marking on the living room carpet. Every tiny noise would scare him, and he would spend most nights crying incessantly. Within 24 hours of plugging in the Feliway he was like a new cat. He's relaxed, doesn't pace around any longer, hasn't marked at all, and rarely cries. We often find him on the living room floor, flat on his back with all four paws in the air and calm as can be. I'm so glad that we found a product that works so well because his neurotic state did not seem like a happy way for any animal to live. We accidentally let the diffuser run out one month and noticed right away that his nervous tendencies were back. Within a few hours of plugging in the refill in, Toby was back to his normal chilled out self. Definitely give this a try. At the very worst you are out a few dollars but it might be just what you are looking for.Customer Review: Feliway - helped with merging households

We merged cat households when we got married. He had three and I had one. After a year, they were still fighting and I got bitten (badly) by my own cat - wrong place, wrong time, she was panicked. I was ready to get rid of all the cats but calmed down after two days (and antibiotics, tetanus shot) and called the vet who recommended Feliway.
It made a difference right away. My 7 year old, spayed female had always been high strung but is now a lap kitty who enjoys attention. His stressed, nearly hairless black cat calmed down, his hair started growing back the first month of use and is now affectionate, selectively. I wish we'd known about this sooner.
To be clear, it is not entirely peaceful here and the cats still hiss and fight off and on but no one's bleeding anymore (including me!). I strongly recommend this product for anyone with stressed cats.
We use two diffusers, in the two main areas the cats spend time. They tend to run out for us around the 30 day mark and we notice significantly increased aggression if we are late changing refills.
Note: 3 of our 4 cats gained a noticeable amount of weight.

The product was recommended to us a couple of years ago because we have one cat that is ...for lack of a better word...nervous and pulls her hair out on her haunches. It took a couple of weeks for us to notice any behavior change in the cat. Now, she lies near the Feliway, which is plugged into a hall electrical outlet. She is less neurotic and rarely pulls her hair. The change was very noticeable over the first couple of months. Note to the human popultion: there is no aroma that can be detected by humans.
Because of the price in single units, we opted to buy the six pack (and what cat would not enjoy a six-pack? :-) It's cost effective saving a sizable hunk of change over the course of a year. Each Feliway lasts approximately two months and for our cat it has been a good expense. Our other cats also lie down near the Feliway at times, but the one for which the product was intended is the one who "uses" the product the most. I would recommend getting one to try it with a cat before buying in volume.
This is the second time we have ordered the six pack via Amazon and have been extremely satisfied with the product and service.

I have two adult, male, neutered cats (ages 12 and 8). Recently the older cat was becoming very aggressive and mean towards the younger cat. Consequently, the younger cat began to pull his fur out on his arms and legs. During this time I was traveling a lot for work. I have now been using the feliway plug-ins for three months. The cats behavior has changed, with the older cat COMPLETELY stopping his aggressive behavior. The younger cat appears much less anxious and has gone off the anti-depressant the vet prescribed. I use the plug-ins in three rooms (two bedrooms and the living room). The smell is somewhat musky and is unpleasant. However, I find it's initially very strong, but that it mellows out after the plug-in is active for a day or so.
If you are having problems with behavior and the vet suggests medication, I would honestly try this first (if there is no imminent "danger" to the pet that requires medication). I regret putting my cat on the anti-depressant as they greatly affected his personality and behavior. Thankfully in my situation the Feliway seems to work.
Customer Review: Smelly, and made me cough all night

I bought the spray and the diffuser because I took in a stray cat and my old cat was distressed. They are fighting all the time, and I'm following all the rules of gradual introduction, separate litter pans, etc. My vet recommended this product, so I bought some from him and some here online (same price).
I know you're supposed to give this stuff time to work, but I can't breathe. I got the spray which I have been using CONSTANTLY for a week. It seems to do NOTHING. Then I got the diffuser yesterday, which I certainly can smell (kind of musky), but in the middle of the night I awakened coughing and choking, and I don't even have asthma.
My old cat seems happy to sniff it but the new cat is immune to it or maybe she's just rushing past it in order to attack my old cat. Either way, this product seems like a hoax.
I now believe I will be forced to find a new home for the beautiful cat who came to my home the week before Christmas.
