I do cat rescue/fostering so I know what the heck I'm talking about. I ended up keeping one of my rescues- a 2 year old male, neutered late in life w/ chronic acid reflux disease- enough said. Between his puking & peeing no one would ever want him. He is aggressive, hyper, a bully & sprays cuz he thinks it's funny. His name is Mr. Loo b/c he thinks the whole world is his LOO!! This Feliway product, while not a miracle has DRASTICALLY cut down the spraying (if he does spray, he only does the 4 days before or after a full moon now- I'm serious folks!!) which is good b/c I am the biggest CLEAN FREAK IN THE WORLD and cannot handle cat urine outside of the litterbox.. It also calms him down & he doesn't bully the other cats as much. Like I said not a miracle product but I would say it cuts down the problem behavior by 90%. I know when it's time for a refill b/c he starts acting up again. It is expensive, esp since I have to use 2 refills a month b/c I have a big house but it's worth it. DEFINITELY try it if you have a problem cat. I got a 6 pack for $73 here at Amazon w/ Free Shipping so that's the best price I have found. I also use the Feliway Spray on his bedding & that helps too. Besides the behavior issues & the fact he costs me a fortune, he is super cute. We rescued 3 cats and had a stray adopt us. Then we heard about a momma cat with 4 kittens suffering in a shelter so we rescued her. We were able to get two kittens adopted, but momma had a nervous breakdown. Also, our first cats were not happy about the new cats. We were not sure how to handle things when we heard about Feliway and decided to try it. It took a few days for the results to be seen clearly, but it really did save the momma cat from her own nerves! The cats all settled down, and after two months of running this item in a diffuser non stop, we were able to stop using it all together. It helped the cats to sort of re-evaluate their feelings about each other. We have not used the product for about a year and suddenly, one of the older cats is attacking our newest rescue. Again, we are buying the feliway! We have never had a urinating problem, only a stress problem and social problem with our cats. This product has been a huge help. We have reached our limit for cats in this house.. (about time, right?) but I am sure that now we will all live happily with our large extended family thanks to Feliway. I have also heard that Bach rescue remedy is excellent, but have not been able to try it yet. Our vet recommended Feliway when we moved to our house a few months ago. Our oldest cat was prone to spraying in our old house, and we wanted to create a spray-free zone from the start. We set up six units between the three floors of the house. The saturated Feliway environment meant a blissful transition, the three cats seemed mellow and immediately happy in their new space.
Fast forward a few months, the Feliway now only on one third dose (2 diffusers only), and our three-year old female started fighting the youngest arrival for top cat status. Fur flying, hissing and stealth attacks several times a day. Our vet recommended Prozac, which is a hard medicine to take (it is extremely bitter and causes extensive frothing at the mouth, hiding it in soft food worked only for a very short time).
We decided to give Feliway another try and set up four units on the first two floors. Within a day, peace and quiet, and the aggressive cat has returned to her sweet mien. We stopped the Prozac altogether.
Lesson learned: respect the concentration stated on the container, and order it so there is no interruption in the diffusing. This product works remarkably well, has no smell to us humans, and our cats are visibly so much more relaxed and content (as are we!).

This product worked spectacularly well in my house with 6 cats in 2400 sq feet. With two males (neutered) and four females (not spaded) we have had constant problems over the past three years with cats spraying areas to establish territoriality.
We have 10 litter boxes scattered about with 3 or 4 different types of litter (more than the n+1 rule), but this hasn't eliminated the problem. I've tried isolating cats with their own litter box, and although this helps it also didn't solve the problem.
About three weeks ago we installed 6 diffusers throughout the house -- particularly in areas where the cats constantly soiled. The result was almost immediate. They stopped urinating outside of the litter boxes. In only one instance has a cat urinated, and that was in a room we normally have as a cat free zone.
The problems caused by having the second male cat hasn't disappeared. He is socially immature and tends to attack the other cats, but the stress levels for the cats have gone down.
I wish we had known about this product sooner. Other than its cost, which is a problem, Felliway does what it claims and I will be using it from now on and am an enthusiastic endorser.

This product finally worked for us with a little tweaking! Our 10yr FIXED FEMALE started spraying all over the house 5 months after we got a new kitten (yes, proper introduction). All was fine until kitten grew. I tried the spray version which worked to a degree. With spray, the cat would not use sprayed spots but just went to next available spot. who has time to spray entire house 2x a day. I tried the plug-ins all over the house but that didn't help. We purchased several tall pressure mount walk-through baby gates and now keep her in the kitchen with the plug-in and life is So Much better for all! The plug-in lasts about 3 full weeks. Worth the money of gates and plugin refills to keep the cat. The plug-in is located in the middle of room, 25x15ft. I notice when refill is almost empty, tempers can rise slightly. then the first couple days of a new plug-in the kitten gets rowdy. but after that all is calm! good luck to all! (side note: I think the 10yr old cat can handle a small space for territory vs the entire house. she's now happy and so are we. we didn't need to find anyone a new home) and Yes, the plug-in helps, without plug in she sprayed the kitchen. with plug-in no spraying kitchen.
