Customer Review: Wish it was not so easily scratched.

I loved these jelly roll pans. They were study, cooked evenly and never warped in the oven. My love affair ended when I noticed a scratch on one of them. I stored them in a drawer and had placed a cooling rack over it. The cooling rack is made of stainless steel and has pretty smooth feet. I don't know how but one foot caused a scratch on the jelly roll pan and exposed the metal underneath. It's much darker looking than the rest of the pan and seems to be "less anodized" aluminum. Now I don't feel comfortable using that pan without foil because I am concerned about the aluminum bleaching into the food. If I knew the pan had such a thin 'coating' (even though it's not supposed to be coated at all!) I would have been more careful with it. The quality is definitely not as great as I thought. I wrote to the manufacture about this and never got a response.

This versatile jelly roll pan is designed for a variety of baking tasks. Use it to bake a perfectly-sized jelly roll, or for baking cookies, bar and squares, pastries, rolls, focaccia and other flatbreads, french fries, and frozen foods. Straight sides and the pan's uniform wall thickness results in an even rise and the elimination of hot or cold spots. The anodized aluminum pan won't discolour and provides excellent cake release and clean up. A ¼" rim around the entire pan makes it easy to lift and move the pan without disturbing the contents.Baking & Cookie Sheets
