Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Fasta Pasta The Microwave Cooker

Customer Review: I have made entire packages of fettucine. Each time I know it won't work.. But it does!!
Summary: 5 Stars

Amazing...I keep waiting for something to go wrong. This gem will take an entire package of spaghetti,or fettuccine and cook it perfectly. Sometimes it looks like pasta is sticking together upon draining, but it separates very easily. Even more amazing, the FASTA PASTA handles 9 strips of lasagna noodles always cooked al dente. However, take the noodles out, or they will fuse together if left to long in the container.

I did make frozen large shells with a creamed spinach filling...Not a good idea, as the cheese and spinach mix cooked into the water. I should have known this would happen. However, the pasta was perfect.

I keep buying the cooker as gifts. I won't have anyone left to send one to for the holidays.

This is possibly the best kitchen idea to come along in years.

Price is sensational.Fasta Pasta The Microwave Cooker

Customer Review: Great product, and easy to use
Summary: 5 Stars

My mom purchased the set of 2 Fasta Pasta cookers on QVC, and gave me one of them. She has used it several times since and loves it, and I used it for the first time tonight. I work full-time and am a student, so at the end of the day I don't feel like doing much cooking. Pasta is one of my favorite foods, and although cooking it the traditional way isn't difficult, there is a lot of "watching" and "stirring" to be done. This product works great, and is very easy to use. I had pasta ready in about 15 minutes time, with no mess. The noodles came out perfect, and did not stick together.

The only way I could think to improve this product is if they included other suggestions for using it, or some recipes. Evidently on QVC they used it to cook vegetables, shrimp, and other things. I'm sure it could be figured out easily, but I don't have much cooking expertise.

Overall I love this product! Not very expensive and takes the hassle out of cooking pasta.

Customer Review: 5 STARS JUST FOR BEING MADE IN THE USA
Summary: 5 Stars

Just received my Fasta Pasta product with cookbook today (get the cookbook it's worth the extra few dollars) but had no pasta on hand to cook with.

Thumbed through the cookbook and liked the detail and great photos, I was curious about who invented and manufactured this product so googled it and found out some background info on it including there very nice website. I was VERY surprised to find that anything made of plastic was still being made in the USA!!

I was debating between Fasta Pasta and Pasta N' More and after some research and lots of review hunting decided on the Fasta Pasta mainly because of the better reviews not too mention Fasta Pasta has been around longer and now to find out it's made only in the USA I am very glad I chose Fasta Pasta over (Pasta N More which IS MADE ONLY IN COMMUNIST CHINA)

Fasta Pasta proves that a great consumer product CAN still be made in the USA and at competitive prices!!

Customer Review: Handy, if silly
Summary: 4 Stars

I've had my Fasta Pasta for almost a month now, and it sees a fair bit of use. It's one of those things I wasn't sure I even wanted at first, but it's actually really handy for someone living alone -- I don't have to dirty up an entire giant pot to cook pasta.

It took a little tinkering to figure out correct cooking times for really thick egg noodles (hint: definitely not what the directions say) and rotini, but now that I've got it down I can produce consistently al dente pasta in the microwave while my stove is occupied with other tasks.

I have not had any problems with it boiling over, but I also haven't cooked more than two servings at a time. The handles do stay comfortably cool to the touch.

Is it a glorified plastic container with some holes in it? Sure. But it combines a few items into one (cooking vessel, strainer, pasta-serving-sizer), it works, and that's good enough for my ten dollars.

Customer Review: Fasta Pasta - works as described
Summary: 4 Stars

I purchased the Fasta Pasta microwave cooker to compliment or replace my Pasta N More microwave cooker.

I do agree with other reviewers that this is a SUPER microwave cooker for pasta as I've used it three (3) times so far (spaghetti, shell macaroni). For me, the cooking times listed with the product are quite accurate (I have a 1200w microwave), and I do prefer my pasta on the ala dente side. The lid makes it a breeze to drain and rinse pasta without a mess.

What I find amusing is the "fasta" part of the product name. One can microwave cook pasta in a regular, microwave-safe container for the SAME amount of time. Not really sure how the description of "saving water and energy" fits in ... maybe compared to stovetop cooking??

The product is made of very, very sturdy plastic and is well-constructed. I can recommend this product, but don't find the "fasta" part reliable (to me, anyway).
