Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Fast Weigh MS-500-BLK Digital Pocket Scale, 500 by 0.1 GCustomer Review: Not quite. I guess I got what I paid for... Summary: 2 Stars
I had intended to use this to weigh out fish food currently at .5 gram. I ran several tests when I bought it because it wasn't even picking up the measurement. It turned out that this scale didn't even register until I had 1.2 + grams of weight on it. Specifically, I have toothpics which weigh approx .4 grams. It repeatedly took 3-4 toothpics to get the scale to move off zero - and jump to 1.2 - 1.6 grams. I don't know about accuracy at higher weights, but it sure doesn't work for what I bought it for.
Customer Review: Priced for simplicty. Summary: 5 Stars
The quality of the item is not reflected in the price.
It works far better for the little things you need it for, more so than something that costs 10 times as much with increased functionality that you dont need.
I love to cook japanese food, but most recipes are given in grams, so this makes it perfect for cooking.
Why would I spend 60 dollars on a scale just to measure some cooking sake or mirin?
Thats why this is perfect for what I need it for.
Customer Review: Accuracy On The Go! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought the FAST WEIGH M SERIES 500 X 0.1G BLACK from Amazon.com for accuracy on the go and that is just what I received. Ordering was easy and delivery was FAST! The scale is compact enough to fit in the front pocket of your jeans or slacks and works as expected. All-n-all, this was a great purchase! I would recommend the Fast Weigh MS-500-BLK Digital Pocket Scale to anyone who needs accuracy on the go.
Customer Review: OK, but not the accuracy needed Summary: 3 Stars
I'm team manager for a Destination Imagination structure team. This is a great little scale for diets and where accuracy is not critical. The team is getting inconsistent readings for small weights (will not show any weight then pop up to .6 grams, etc.) It's design also makes it difficult to add a larger tray for weighing their structure since it tends to rest on or cover the display. They didn't think they needed a .001 accurate scale, but they now need to upgrade. At least it doesn't cost much.
Customer Review: Great Summary: 5 Stars
I really don't see how this thing could get a negative review. It costs $6 shipped, and it works well. The only potential problem you could have is fitting the entire base of whatever you're weighing on the pad and see the display at the same time. To fix this, just put another object with a smaller base on the pad as a riser. I can't vouch for its accuracy into the thousandths of a gram, but what do you expect for $6? This is probably one of my all time best purchases, value-wise.
