Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Fagor Splendid 6-Quart Pressure CookerCustomer Review: Excellent product Summary: 5 Stars
I have used it a few months now. Works wonderfully. Is a bit different from the Pressure Cookers that I was used to, in India. So takes some getting used to. The base is not as heavy as the aluminium pressure cookers but I don't think it makes a difference to the cooking process. Sizewise is a bit on the generous side for Indian foods (Rajma, Chickpeas etc) for just a couple however allows cooking double quantities (with extra frozen, for later use).
Customer Review: A wonderful cooker Summary: 5 Stars
Bought 6 qts one from Amazon 7 years ago (my first pressure cooker), and have been thoroughly enjoying it ever since (changed the gasket once). I also bought 10 qts one for bigger jobs a few years ago, which has been equally good. I am thinking to get 4 oz one now for smaller jobs. Very reliable, easy to use. There is a bit of learning curve for you to feel completely comfortable wih the cooker, but that's with all other pressure cookers as well.
Customer Review: It did a great job! Summary: 5 Stars
This is my first pressure cooker, but I'm sold already. The first night I got it, I made some Alton Brown Pressure Cooker Chili and all I can say is Wow. The meat went from tough (okay, I didn't buy the most expensive beef) to nearly melting in your mouth. The cooker was easy to use, and came with both an Owner's Manual and a recipe book. If you like hearty, one-pot dishes and also like easy to use cooking gear, check this one out.
Customer Review: After a year, fully satisfied with the product. Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this item in Feb of 2006 and have had many opportunities to give it a full test. I love it compared to the other style of pressure cookers. It just takes a little getting use to the different sound it makes when it is under pressure since there is no jiggler. I consider the safety features to be of great importance. It seals very fast. I highly recommend this pressure cooker for anyone that enjoys this type of cooking.
Customer Review: expensive not always best Summary: 5 Stars
I have owned different brands and have used many more in my lifes cooking. If you have ever let a pressure cooker go dry you will know the joy of soaking and scraping. My inexpensive fagor spendid has given me no greif over the years. I buy them for the perfect wedding gift because we are all in a hurry these days and you can still produce a healthy and hearty meal in a short time. Enjoy!
