Customer Review: Poor Quality Control

I purchased this pressure cooker on sale. I received it thinking it should be simple to operate. It was. The only issue I have is the lid does not fit properly. It is very loose and does not create a seal. The handles are tight, the lid just does not fit. The rubber gasket also seems too small for the lid. The first time I tried to use it, I did not get a seal. I finally had to play with the lid to get it to work. Well, that took about 20 minutes and by that time, the roast had cooked (boiled) and came out tough as shoe leather. I have not been able to get a seal on it since. Useless item. I've had to resort to my larger pressure cooker, which still works great, but is bigger than I need right now. I don't understand how you can manufacture a product that requires the lid to fit, and not verify that it does. I consider it similar to making a car and not checking that the engine runs.
update: the original pressure came from another online company. I contacted them and had a replacement sent. It had the same problem. You can press on the handle and lid wobbled left or right. The lid, mind you, not the handles. I received an RMA to send both back. I took a chance and ordered the Fagor from Amazon because the reviews indicated these worked. I received it today and promptly put in water and tried it. This one had a lid that did not wobble much, and to my pleasure, steam came out from the handle, the yellow indicator jumped, and voila, it sealed. I am pleased right now and have given this 3 stars. I'm going to try cooking something to see if it works with actual food instead of just water. My concern at this point is if it works now, how long will this last? The metal along the rim seems thin so only time will tell.
