Off the batch, it doesn't match a full size 220v induction cooktop in performance, which works like a charm. The induction section shows 2 rings 5" and 8.5". On this model and possibly on all portable ones, due to power limitations on 110V and fuse breaker size, the active heating part is only the 5" ring, not the 8.5" which can be a problem depending on pan size and cooking method used. Despite these restrictions, considering the price, I'm overall pleased with the cooktop, works good,precise adjustment of heat, reacts fast like a gas burner, heats small pots and pans fast, works with large pots too. Of course only magnetic ones work, half of mine did. I use it every time I cook, combined with my regular smooth cooktop or grill, to saute, boil, simmer,I like the timer function.Customer Review: Excellent

Forget the negative reviews, This you could say is a "sampler product" from Fagor. But at the moment, $2000 just for a new induction cooker top? ... no thanks!
I timed our ceramic top to this unit in boiling water, and this induction cooktop knocked nearly 2 minutes off the time it took the ceramic we have (and that was using the large element).
Noise was nothing to complain at, Its half the noise of our extractor fan (which is barely noticeable anyway)
The electric company aint gonna like the reduction in our bills in future!

This portable induction cooktop does what it says. Portable and eco-friendly! The countdown timer is a really nice feature. The touch buttons may need a little time to get used to for some new users and The fan is bit noisy . Otherwise I will rate 5 stars. I have to retire some of my old cookware which are not induction compatible and spend more money for new induction compatible ones. By the way, fagor customer service is not as nice as their product...Customer Review: Are these people getting paid to write these reviews?

In short, this burner is rubbish for the simple fact that the buttons respond only occasionally when pressed so you are never quite sure if it is going to work. I regret not having read the Cook's Illustrated reviews prior to purchasing it because now I am stuck with a product I find unusable. A complete waste of money. I imagine the other reviews are by people who are getting subsidized to write nice things.Customer Review: Excellent product!

I just purchased the Fagor portable induction cooktop, and i think this is a GREAT product. Not only does it save time and energy in cooking, but it is also very easy to clean and safe to use.
If you entertain people, this is the perfect appliance to have for cooking indoor/outdoor.
This is a MUST buy, love it!
