Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Fagor 670040230 Stainless-Steel 3-in-1 6-Quart Multi-CookerCustomer Review: Pressure Cooker Review Summary: 4 Stars
I purchased this 3 in 1 pressure cooker mostly for the electric pressure cooker feature. The browning feature is very handy, saving time and eliminating extra steps. I have had to increase the recommended cooking times, but once I got the hang of it everything "pressure cooked" is great. I tried the rice cooker feature but found the hard set of the time was not enough to get the rice completely cooked (I live at sea level). I also tried the slow cooker feature once and the food was not completely cooked; I would think it would need more time however you can only slow cook for 9.5 hours and most recipes I have are for longer. For those reasons I selected 4 stars - however I do love the self-regulating cooking capabilities and would recommend purchasing this item.
Customer Review: Fast Easy Cooking! Summary: 5 Stars
This is almost like the Cooks Essentials Pressure cooker sold on QVC. We had one but it was dropped and the valve broke. This time I choose amazon because of the price and so close to the original one we had. Got it home and it works perfectly!
Just a tip: when it is coming to pressure, it will "hiss a little". It will shut of to silence soon after but if not, just wiggle the valve a little and that should help. You should not have to, but we did. Then it will count down the minutes until done. Comes with some recipies but get a good book like "Bob Warden's Slow Food Fast" Pressure Cooker Cookbook. Just remember one of the main things to have on hand is Chicken Broth. It's in a lot of recipes. This is one appliance you won't want to put away.
Customer Review: Great deal! Summary: 5 Stars
I am loving this Fagor 3 in 1 multi-pot!
I've been a fan of the Fagor Duo stove-top PC for many a year, but wanted something that I didn't have to baby-sit quite as much.
This PC fits the bill. Nice solid feel. Swift and sure performance. We just had the nicest lunch from the Fagor recipe book, Chicken w/pancetta and mushrooms. The browning feature worked very well, one minute heat-up, every thing browned beautifully. Then added the chicken, wine, tomatoes and broth. Up to pressure pretty quickly, then seven minutes later, we had an absolutely luscious meal, the chicken melt-in-your-mouth tender.
Very pleased, both with the performance and the 'feel' of the multi-pot. Thanks, Fagor, for another great product!
Customer Review: too good to be true!! Summary: 1 Stars
Heard about these so called fine machines...knew I would use it lots as the price was over 100.00. I purchased the end of October, worked fine first 3 times I used it, so I urged several friends into checking this Fagor out.
I spoke to soon as it broke on the 4th use...just cut off, never to come on again.
Looked at reviews again...WOW...lots of complaints and the worst customer service ever!
The THING is junk...you will not get a refund from company. After days of phone calls..I finally spoke to a person who explained I could ship it back to company for $15.00...and within 4 weeks they will fix or send new one.
it looks like from reviews they are all breaking...like I said,
JUNK!! Stay away from Fagor America!
Customer Review: Great cooker but when the nonstick pot is scratched, you can't replace it Summary: 3 Stars
I have bought this pressure cooker three years ago. We chose this pressure cooker over others because it is has versatility and it can be timed to cook, you don't have to watch it. We have been mainly using it to cook meat, beans and veggies. It works great so far however the nonstick pot inside is scratched and I can't find a replacement piece. I have looked online and Fagor's own web page with no luck. I have emailed Fagor and I'm waiting to hear from them. If I can't find the replacement piece, I don't think I will continue to use it since scratched non-stick cookware are supposed to be really bad for you. I think I wasted quite a bit of money. I wish I bought a stainless steel one and just give up on the versatility.
