While Vornado fans are tops always, this particular model is especially good at low speed for quiet use in a bedroom or office, or it can be dialed up to higher speed to serve as a fan, plus a source of white noise. I like especially that the fan can be pointed straight at the ceiling to offer circulation without direct breeze to blow around papers or cause stiff necks. Unassuming, efficient, attractive, and easy to clean.

Vornado's small (12-inch diameter), quiet fan is designed to provide big output. The 42-inch pedestal it sits on makes it possible to hide the unit behind furniture while still directing air circulation efficiently. As the manufacturer points out, this fan isn't just for cooling: proper air circulation can save money on winter heating bills as well as summer cooling bills by beating air stratification. The plastic material is surprisingly sturdy and substantial. Note that "whitestone" probably translates as "pale tan" to most people.
