This has so far worked very well for me. Very heavy and well made. Looks good as it works. Does not have any trouble grinding Ice, and pulse works great only five speeds but thats enough for me.
Only bad, leaks just a little when you don't tighten all the parts really snug but any blender would. The top "knob" seems like it could be a little tighter fit.

I too was a bit skeptical about this item being "refurbished".
When I recieved the blender it was nicely packaged. I opened the package and was expecting minor flaws on blender.
But was pleasantly surprised to find no minor flaws. The blender was just like new! You will not find this brand of blender anywhere cheaper!

If you can get this reconditioned then I highly recommend it. The sturdiest blender I've used and the jar is easily disassembled for cleaning. If I had to pay full price for a new one I might shop around a bit but if you can find this discounted for being reconditioned get it fast. Bought the refurm model and could not be happier. This is a heavy duty blender that has served me well over the last month. It is also remarkably quiet. My other blender was as loud as a vacuum, but this one is almost whisper quiet. Nice added benefit. I did a ton of research before buying this blender and can't believe how disappointed I am with the performance. It looks beautiful, is easy to clean, the glass is nice and thick, but it can barely chop a banana, let alone frozen fruit or ice. I had an old Hamilton Beach for ten years that cost around $15 and it worked far better than this.
