This little machine couldn't be quicker or easier. I put the bowl in my freezer overnight and made the simple vanilla ice cream recipe and had no problems on my first try. The ice cream is not as smooth as store bought ice cream, but for something that takes less than 30 minutes from start to finish I see nothing to complain about. I used the cooked custard type recipe which is a lot more work, but turns out a lot creamier. If all you want is a quick little dessert on short notice, just keep the bowl in your freezer and you can whip up some pretty decent ice cream on short notice.Customer Review: Georgia Peaches and Me

My ice cream maker arrived about the same time as those sweat Georgia peaches ripened. Combine those two and what a frozen treat we had. The sorbet's are fantastic and so easy to make. In just 20 minutes, we have a great ending to our evening meal. I have tried the lower fat recipes and get almost as good, but less creamy, results. At [price], it has saved me at least that much in what I would have spent for Breyer's in one month. No gums, emulsifiyers,preservatives, or other additives to worry about. Florida strawberries are appearing in the store now, so I can't wait to try them.Customer Review: Ice Cream???

More like frappe. I have attempted ice cream twice. The first time I thought maybe the bucket wasnt frozen solid, so I cranked my freezer up on high and left in there for 24 hours. BOTH times the ingredients came out thin and soupy. I even tried running the machine longer, to no avail. The only way to get anywhere near ice cream consistency was to just freeze the ingredients and keep stirring every 1/2 hour or so. Doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of an Ice Cream MAKER??? This product is great. I was a little nervous about ordering a factory refurb, but after reading the reviews on others who have gone the way of purchasing the refurbs I went for it. I am so glad I did. The machine was shipped and packaged beautifully, no way to tell this item from a brand new one. It works great, and my kids and I love making ice cream. One thing, be sure to follow the recipe for volume, or you will have some of the mix creeping out of the top. But it is an easy clean-up. Keep your bowl in the freezer and you can whip up some ice cream at any time.Customer Review: Don't do it

I bought this item based on positive reviews and the seemingly great value. First this sale price is equal to most store's regular price. I've used this unit on several occasions and the results were okay. The old fashioned ice with rock salt units will get the ice cream more frozen. The unfortunate thing with this unit is that I'll never be able to use it again. The "bowl" that you freeze cracked while in the freezer and leaked some strange fluid out. It looks like ice crystals, but it is apparantly some type of chemical. Neat idea, bad execution.
