Be prepared to do some prep work if you want any results from this machine. I suggest making your freezer colder and freezing the bowl at least 2 days. Also, make sure whatever you put in it is completely chilled (at least 24 hours). Even then, don't expect great results. Your product will still be very soft and will probably need to harden a bit more in the freezer. You can't be spontaneous with this little guy. We've tried just about everything in this and have been mildly pleased with the results. I don't regret buying it, but if the bowl held onto it's temp for even 10 minutes longer, I'd be a happier camper.Customer Review: Ben & Jerry mooove over

I found this ice cream VERY easy to use no salt or ice to add.Plug it in and walk away. very easy to clean. I store the bowl in the freezer so it is always is ready to use. Nothing beats home made ice cream with real cream any bizzare flavor I desire. The kids think I am the most awesome mom because I make ice cream. Now we are in the experimental stages with different flavors. Needs a little prep time(More time in the freezer) for hard scoopable ice cream. But we usally can't wait. Reccommend an extra bowl for two different batches and BEN AND JERRY's ice cream book to go with. Great Gift Ideal too.

I just received my ice cream maker, and the first recipe I tried was a knock-off of Ben & Jerry's N.Y. Super Fudge Chunk. The result is some of the best ice cream I've ever tasted. Although the ingredients are by no means healthy, there's a certain pleasure in knowing that every ingredient is natural. I normally keep my freezer super frozen - that may have led to my great success with the consistency of the ice cream. I had been afraid that it would be really runny but it was perfect! Yay impulse buy. Great bargain, too, on the reconditioned product. I too could find no sign that it wasn't brand new.Customer Review: Worthy of ice cream lovers.

If you are already a fan of premium ice cream (Ben & Jerry's etc.) you won't really save money as cream, vanilla bean, etc. are rather pricey. But there is great fun to be had customizing your own flavors. The reconditioned model is an excellent bargain .... As others have noted, make sure the interior container is completely frozen. It does take a couple of days, and not the six to 22 hours suggested in the booklet (unless you crank up your freezer and make everything else rock hard). It really isn't too loud. I would make sure you have a stiff spatula handy to scrape out the mixture.Customer Review: yummy for my tummy

I bought this item with slight trepidation, because it was reconditioned. When it arrived, I immediately bought supplies and made a batch of ice cream, just to make sure it worked. I've had several types of ice cream makers before, but this one is by far the easiest. I love that I don't have to fuss with ice (since I don't make it in the winter) because the bowl is already frozen. It makes only small batches, but it works very quickly. All our ice cream (we've made six or seven batches by now) have come out eatable in half an hour, and very tasty. I would recommend this item to anyone.
