Customer Review: Disappointed
Summary: 2 Stars

I was excited about buying this high quality juicer after having read so many glowing reviews, but after trying it for a few days (w/ numerous combinations of fruits and vegetables), I am very disappointed with the purchase. This is my first juicer, so maybe I'm expecting too much, but if this is the best juicing gets - it's definitely not for me.

Pros: Construction quality, easy to assemble/take apart, wide chute (small apples fit w/o cutting), not too noisy, dual speed motor.

Cons: Here's the main problem: This thing takes a ridiculous amount of produce to make even small quantities of juice. I juiced 4 pounds of small apples yesterday and it made only about 500 ml of juice! Is this a joke? At $1/lb for apples, this thing would cost me about $8 a litre for apple juice! Worse - half of the "juice" is actually froth AND it's way too gritty. Sure, you can use the defrother in the provided juice collector (a nice feature) - but then it takes away even more of the output. I can't understand how some talk about "dry pulp" - my pulp is thick and WET regardless of which fruit/vegetable I juice and using high or low speed. The amount of waste is huge. Also, the juice is very "gritty" (not fine), which surprised me since it is expelled through the fine screen filter. Almost like drinking thin apple sauce rather than juice. It seems to be operating as intended, so I really do not believe I have a defective juicer, but when I read the 5* reviews it's as if they have a different machine than the one I have.

Cleaning: While it's true that the unit disassembles and that most of the parts can be easily/quickly rinsed - cleaning the filter is a real pita. The supplied brush works well, but it takes a good ten minutes of labour to brush the food particles out of the filter. If this juicer produced an acceptable amount of juice, the cleaning time would be worth it.

Customer Review: Excellent taste, very efficient, but where's the fiber?
Summary: 5 Stars

I never realized how much fiber you get from eating and apple until I saw the "waste" that comes out of this thing! I bought 10# of different kinds of apples to try this baby out. I mixed a stalk of celery a few carrots and some apples and COULD NOT BELIEVE how good it tasted.
Our 18-month-old drank a whole glassful without stopping to breathe, and then he wanted more! It HAS to be good for you, as you ingest all of the vitamins of the fruits and vegetables, but unfortunately you lose most of the fiber, which is essential for your health, too. Lots of calories, little fiber, so be careful you don't get fat!!!

They suggested putting some of the pulp in a baking tin and covering it with merange and baking it. It sounds great, but I haven't tried it yet. I ate some of the pulp and found it fine, but my wife found it disgusting. I hope the novelty doesn't wear off too soon...

One this is for sure - I will NEVER buy a processed bottle of apple juice again. They filter EVERYTHING out but the calories! Where's the nutritional value? I'd rather drink just plain water - not that there is anything wrong with that.

Thanks for the earlier recommendation to get the more powerful version. The 13,000 rpm seems to get out most of the liquid from the pulp, but I've never had a juicer before, so I'm not the best judge.

It cleans easily, too. There is a stiff brush included, and if you rinse it off right away, cleaning is simple. I've used it a dozen times.
The parts are top-rack dishwasher safe, but they don't fit in my top rack, because they are so big.

Having two speeds is a huge plus, so you can do soft fruits and hard fruits (oranges or apples, respectively). If you do an orange at high speed, for example, it sort of slings half of it into the pulp container.

Customer Review: Well thought-out juicer
Summary: 3 Stars

I've had this juicer for three months, using it 3-4 times a week. It is an excellent juicer. The reason I gave it three stars--when I research something like this (heavily reviewed) I always read the three star reviews, because are generally more balanced with pros and cons. I've had two other juicers: an ancient juiceman and an omega centrifugal type; they were both good juicers and from a durability standpoint would probably outlast this juicer. Knowing that, I would still buy this juicer.

It is very easy to use. Yes, it can be messy if you are less than anal about setting it up, which is what dish rags are for. Clean up is easy and fast; takes me about 4 minutes; though if you don't have a sink disposer, it might take a bit longer. As to the wetness of the pulp, it seems about the same as other juicers. The big mouth is a big timesaver. It has a pretty big footprint, and I keep the pulp bin and juice jug in the cupboard. I mostly use it for juicing vegetables (I eat fruit) and rarely have to use the high setting (sweet potatoes, beets). It is well built but no tank, which for the price seems fair. This is my favorite of the three juicers I've had. It is a well thought out piece of machinery. Most of the bad reviews seem to be unlucky dud buyers, those who were annoyed that it did not wash itself and make their beds and those who compared it to a higher maintenance masticating type juicer, which is like comparing apples to orange tennis balls.

I bought two of these, one as a present. They both performed well.

Customer Review: Nice Juicer
Summary: 4 Stars

This is my first juicer. I chose to buy it based on reviews I read here and on other sites. I wanted a powerful, sturdy, well made juicer. This juicer is exactly those things.
I have been using it every day since it arrived, clean and packaged well. I have made many juice combinations, juicing every thing from beets and sweet potato, to grapes and papaya. It juiced them all well except the papaya, which came out very thick, and I did not like it. I do enjoy adding ginger root to most of my juice combinations, and the juicer handles it like any other veg. I have also juiced cilantro and parsley, just be sure to roll them up tightly before putting them in. Though it has two speeds, I find that I juice everything on high.
It is easy to assemble and use. I do not have any trouble lining up the arrows on the blade basket with the motor. It is easy to clean if you do it right away before food starts to dry on it. I put a plastic bag in the pulp catcher, then just carry it out to the compost. The brush provided is the perfect tool for cleaning the screen.
Drawbacks are; It is big and takes up a lot of counter space, and it is tall, my cabinet doors hit it when I try to open them. I leave it out, because I think it would take up even more room in a cabinet if I tried to put it away.
Overall, I am happy with the performance, and I am really enjoying fresh juice everyday!

Customer Review: IF ONLY IT WORKS LONGER (3 WEEKs LIFE and ZERO CUSTOMER SUPPORT)
Summary: 1 Stars

Yes it died only after almost 3 weeks of rarely usage, just stop working nada. Breville support was so horrendous that leads me to write first review ever in my life.

Here's how to get warranty from Breville:
First has to call/email them, then they instruct you to email them a copy of the purchase receipts (had to scan my), 3 digits on the machine, model number.
Wait for their reply saying that another email will come from FedEx with label that you will send out your broken juicer.
No email come so email them again stating no mail label was sent from FedEx.
They reply again (2nd time) stating again label from FedEx will come within 2 business days.
Still waiting for a label from FedEx, too exhausted to continue.
There's go your almost 100 dollars product goes down the drain.

This juicer is just little better than the Waring Pro juicer that I purchase for half the price, it did give more juice while it works. The main reason I bought was because of the bigger opening, but I still have to cut the mid size apple to fit in. Assembling is little harder as it has 1 more part to put together. Despite it does a good job, it is just not a reliable product. Waring Pro was also purchased refurbished and still going strong.

Will never buy another Breville, I may have a lemon, but their customer support push me away.
