The product that arrived was the exact one shown in the picture. At first I was a bit leery ordering this based on the negative review and my own independent research on Youtube which showed that the letters are permanently attached to several ruler-shaped plastic. However when I received it, I realized that the configuration didn't make it any more difficult to use. As a matter of fact, having a few long flat pieces made storage easier with less pieces to lose. The plastic it's made out of is very sturdy and since there are no pieces to rust or break or lose, I think this will outlast my interest in fondant cake-making :)
On a sidenote, it doesn't work at all with my home-made marshmallow fondant. I used it on gumpaste and that a was a breeze! I haven't tried it on store-bought fondant to see if that works too.
I'm very pleased with this purchase.
