I bought one of these at Bed Bath and Beyond (it was about $4.00 there). My husband and I were sick of our lettuce going bad so quickly, so we figured it was worth a try. As far as lettuce goes this product is great! It definitely doubled the time that the lettuce was good. I was really impressed with it in that aspect. But so far this seems to be the only thing we buy that it gets these kinds of results with. It extended the life of my strawberries by like a day or two. Most other fruits get the same kind of results as the strawberries. Though I have to admit it did seem to keep my carrots crisper for a few days more than normal. Is this a miracle product that will double the life of all your fruits and veggies? Probably not. But it will keep lettuce fresh for a long time and it does extend the life of most fruits and veggies by a couple days, so it's worth it for us.
Another thing I should point out is that we have been using this for a little over a month now and I'm not so sure these discs last three months like they claim. It seemed right around the one month mark the quality of our produce was slowly starting to go down. We are almost at the two month mark and at this point my strawberries are going bad in the time that they normally would, and the lettuce is lasting only a couple days extra. I have only used one disc so far, so it could just be that individual disc, but I have a feeling their lifespan is more like a month than three.
