Customer Review: I suffered too long before buying this

For years I endured crappy blenders that couldn't crush ice or do a decent job blending without having to stop and stir or shake the thing (usually with a string of profanity attached). Cleaning was always a chore, too. Now, with the Ninja, I couln't be happier! As I was processing dried apricots tonight my husband overheard a private comment--I told my Ninja I loved it, and I meant it. As for how long this will last--nothing lasts forever. I'd rather have to buy a new Ninja every other year than continue to use an appliance that doesn't work for crap and makes me homicidal in the process. If you find you dread dragging out your blender and/or are exhausted by the time finish using it, throw that POS into the garage sale pile and buy a Ninja. Purchased this product from As-Seen-on-TV site. Bought additional containers at the same time for a total of nearly $60 dollars. I thought it was really great until the drive connector on the bottom of the power head stripped out. I have searched and searched for a replacement part with little luck. The connector is attached with one screw to the power head and would be easy to replace if the part was available. This part is a single point of failure by any standard and should be available to the consumer but here I sit with a cabinet full of chopper/blender containers I can't use for anything but storage. First the good, this makes wonderful icy drinks and is a remarkable improvement over my last blender. My sister liked mine so much I let her take mine and I bought a new one today.
I unpacked the blender and it was missing the recipe book. OK that's not bad I'll just call customer service and have them send me a replacement. I spent about 20 minutes with a rude man in India. The phone connection was lousy and there was alot of noise in the backround. Again he was rude. It took him forever to get just the simple information (shipping) from me and at one point yelled at me because I couldn't understand his very thick accent.
I will definately think twice about buying another one of their products like shark or fantom.

Got super excited seeing the commercial on TV. This product worked fine, even great for a month and then the white plastic part of the motor scraped, so did the top tip of the plastic portion of the blades and now it wont rotate. Just makes a screechy noise, heats up and I can smell plastic burning. Customer care is rubbish - thankfully I am within the return period and will return it ASAP. When I spoke to the customer care - they tried to talk me into keeping the product, and they would ship replacement motor. In a month. A MONTH!! and then when I refused that they had the audacity to tell me I am the only user that ever wanted to return this amazing item... That ticked me off.. Regret the money spent on shipping... We bought one of these after a friend had bought one and it was impressive for making smoothies! However, I remain as skeptical as ever about anything that is an 'as seen on TV'product. The last time I bought something advertized on TV was the eggwave back in 1999 - what a successful run that had - NOT!!.
Our Ninja lasted about two months and guess what so did our friends!
The product is not durable and while I read some good reviews here on Amazon, I wonder how many are still working months after they had purchased it. FYI we used ours approximately once to twice a week to make just smoothies.
Beware this is not a product that is designed to last - it's an expensive throw away item.
